When Jen gets into trouble with one of the tongs in the space port of Parkilo, she and her mate Tam have to make a hasty departure.
Unfortunately, things doesn't go very smoothly, and a tavern singer and her shady first mate boyfriend gets dragged into the mess.

A few notes on the setting:
Jahn - a polite address similar to 'sir', used for and by all genders.

Casque bleu - the peacekeepers of Parkilo space port. They wear uniforms and/or armour in the same light blue as our world's UN. They are not very similar beyond that.

Needler - gauss weapons ranging from small pistols to large vehicle-mounted (or carried by troops in powered amrour) gatling guns. Fires small metal darts at an incredible velocity. Powered by electric cells.

Elves - Elves are all drow in this setting. Dark grey to black skin, white hair (often dyed) and with a multitude of eye colours.
They are a genengineered race, originally made by humans as slave labour. They won their freedom in the bloody, brutal gene wars about 300 years ago.
Interaction with humans are still tense on a political level, though there are numerous mutually beneficent contacts on a personal and business level.

Ry'kassen - an avian race of bird people, loosely based on the Tartarians Sabregirl created for the Elder Scrolls game Morrowind.

Touching fingertips - the local version of a handshake. You tilt your hand up, fingers slightly apart, and touch them to the fingertips of the person you greet.
