How do you get your shading so smooth?

I use many multiply-layers for shading.

I have felt like my shading and coloring work has needed a lot of help of late, which is why I had asked. Is there a specific tool you use in whatever art program you use? Like a blender or airbrush or whatever?

OK, I’m not good in english but I will try to explain.
1. First layer : base color
2. Shadow layer : this layer set as multiply, I use hard brush to paint shadow. Using blur-tool where I want more smooth such as round area.
3. Darker shadow : multiply-layer, using method like previous layer. Paint the area at deep.
4. Gradient layer : multiply-layer, make the area that far from light source a little bit darker, for more smoothness.
Use color to paint shadow not to dark, if you feel the picture is to dark, try to adjust opacity of layers.
