Boooooooy okay this isn't the most comprehensive guide ever but this is a starting point for my fursona's species. These little guys have kind of evolved past being just hybrids and I felt they deserved their own name and characteristics that could be shared with the furaffinity community as a whole.
Disclaimer: these are not a fully open species!
If you're interested in making your own Læpus you're free to use the MYO base or create your own design using only common characteristics, but Læpi with rare characteristics are limited to adoptables and giveaways ran on this account. (They can also be bought through resale!)
Overall, not everything is super accurate here since I mostly wanted to just scribble out my basic ideas for the species - but I'll post any updates as they come along and explain more of the lore behind these little guys as I develop more work revolving around them!

it also inspires me to get my butt working on my own original species so that i can release them, haha

do you have any rules regarding markings? such as if the markings should only correlate to species of rabbits and marine animals or if they can extend outside of that realm and what colors are acceptable?

It's a lot of work but its so fun to come up with something completely of your own, I'm excited to keep developing them and seeing what others come up with~
And just about anythings acceptable! I think one rule I want to go in and add is that cheek dots like Sea's are prohibited? Not to stifle anyones creativity or anything but I /would/ like there to be something that keeps them unique from the rest

Am I allowed to add a notch in my WIP Lad's ear? Or is that a rare trait? (Sorry, I was kinda confused) and is it like, 1 notch in each ear = sin of leaving the water, or is it two notches on each ear, or one notch on each ear? Sorry if my wording was confusing. I'm just struggling to know how things work and wanna make sure my lad gets accepted.
Oh hi! I've been extremely inactive here due to school, but yeah no worries, notches are not a genetic trait and rather a physical marker of their past actions. They're kinda meant to be used for character building purposes and to kind of decide whether or not you want your Laepus to live on the land rather than in the sea c:
I have a question can I redesign my laepus i really doesn't like his color palette and his hair but the rest stays as it is why I'm asking is because I saw closed species and someone ask if they can redesign the character but they can't and "must" buy a new character I know what a semi open species is but I prefer to ask to be sure
