...Looks like this has been going on for a while XD
I was a bit bored of working on current projects so I decided to bug friends for prompts. This started out as simply 'Raichu' but the pose I put it in demanded a scene and so Salamence came along :]
1.8 days approx start to finish.
Have you ever really noticed how Salamence's wings are so fail? I love the fact that it's a bellydragger and a dragon and always seems so damn nasty, but ye Gods, those wings make me cringe XD Youshouldn'tbeabletoflywiththosewingsSalamence.
I had to think for a bit how to real-ify his wings while still keeping them close to the design XD Technically, he still can't fly with those wings hahahah.
I realised during this that I can't seem to do curved perspective. Oh well; I suppose I'll just have to keep practicing. I'm quite pleased with how this came out overall, though :D

I love the lightning effects =D They really stand out against the rest of the colors, and the picture just expands from that focal point into an awesome action scene! Excellent composition!
Other details like the shattering earth, the shading on the rocky sides of the cliff, and of course the pokemon themselves are absolutely fantastic. While not a fan of the anime at all, I love it when artists put their own spin and creativity to it... I swear if the pokemon series was anywhere near as "realistic" and gritty as this, I would be drooling all over it XD
