Toon physics? Hmmm. Real pins hold the diaper up via tension. Maybe toon pins can pass into and out of hammer space through separate portals, ensuring that the only way to remove the diaper entirely would be to remove the pin. On the other paw, if there were portals to hammer space under the diaper, wouldn't there be a risk of leaks into hammer space (getting everything inside wet)? On the other paw, toons seldom actually use diapers.
Well you see, such hammer-spaces that the pin would slide through would have a width exactly equal to the width of the pin... Or at the very least the hammer-space in question would have elastical properties that can collapse upon the pin once insert through both the entrance and exit of the hammer-space. Because of this, the seal is impenetrable for any possible substance so the diaper will still perform it's job as intended. And while diaper usage isn't super common, it can happen to toons as well. ;P
