Rekindling Ch. 1: Shattered Innocence
You can't run from the past forever. No matter how hard Emberflame tries, there's always some dark corner of her history waiting to be unearthed. In the midst of looking for a lost item on Mt. Coronet, the Ninetales finds herself digging up a part of herself she wished had stayed buried. When Abomasnow attack and your Liepard teammate demands answers; there's only so many ways one so innocent can react.
And sometimes, they even surprise themselves.
Yep. Here it is, out of complete nowhere. Like a stray spark reigniting coals that had long since lost their heat, the sequel to Bittersweet Tales is here. Welcome to Rekindling, a story taking place several weeks after the end of
tastytales's Spice of Life (for chronological purposes.) With time being taken off to get myself together, meet some new people, break up with some old ones, and in general sort of just give myself time to decompress and think things out, I am back in the writing mojo and its friggin' great.
For those returning from Bittersweet Tales, awesome! This series will pick up a while after that one leaves off.
For those new to this shindig and wondering what the heck? Don't worry! This series is designed to have callbacks to BST, but by no means do you need to read it to understand who these characters are or what they're doing or the like! Of course, you can go read it if you want!
Special Thanks:
TastyTales for letting me continue to write in Clearspring along with designing the title card! (Art by Voided on Discord, effects (like the filter) and the title itself by TastyTales.)
furryshapeshifter for coming up with the name that eventually became the title! (Previously it was Eternal Flame.)
Smuxray for his help in editing this (and future chapters/unrelated stories when relevant), as well as just being a pretty awesome guy and writer all around.
PoncoCykes for his own help with editing as well as just being there for me through all kinds of stuff that I won't get into here.
Veilthrerat for cameoing! :D

I-it was an accident. They needed Quinn, and well, he'd have never gone there without me along with him, all those ice-types. It got knocked off [literally] in a fight with some sneasels, and I didn't realize it before we were getting out of that tight spot.
