Lion cubs should never roam too far from the pride...who knows what troubles they could get into!
In which Dakota is secretly on 'cub-retrieval duty', and after giving the cubs a fright and VERY deeply ingrained mental lesson of a lifetime...the snake sends them stupidly stumbling back to their mothers.
After a bit of possessive coiling and crooning of course.
But the cubs are never told that Dakota is in league with the pride. Nah, it's much more effective to let them believe there is a TERRIFYING giant snake out there who hunts misbehaving cubs down!
I reaaaally wanted to draw a possessive Dakotasnek, all coiled around somethin cute and soft. Originally I was going to make this a YCH, where any lion/bigcat character could purchase the spots of Nala and Simba!
I may still offer that, but for now please enjoy this brain-splurge of self-satisfying TLK art.

The cheek smooshing is a nice touch. Though it also has to make you wonder whether or not the cubs are wandering off of their own accord.
Dakota: "Who's my snuggle-cub?"
Nala: "Me."
Dakota: "Who's going to stay right here in my coils for the rest of the day?"
Nala: "Me."
Dakota: "And who gets an urge to wander every time someone says 'elephant'?"
Nala: "Me."
Dakota: "That's a good girl." *kisses* "Now, let's put your head in my mouth and see if your future hubby comes to the rescue."

Dakota: "Who's going to stay right here in my coils for the rest of the day?"

Simba: "No."

Simba: "At the last second."
Dakota: "Have you learned your lesson about leaving the Pride Lands and approaching snakes?"
Simba: "No."
Dakota: "You're drooling on my scales."
Simba: "Sorry."
Dakota: "You are forgiven." *kisses* "Now, who wants to give their poor limbless auntie a back scratching?"
Simba: "Me."
Nala: "Me."
Dakota: "Thank you, Snake-Jesus."
Dakota: "Do you remember how you saved Nala?"
Simba: "No."
Dakota: "Do you remember how you escaped?"
