Science diagrees with you. Trans women are women. There are not biological definitions of women that exclude trans women without excluding cis women. Whether it's based on chromosomes (there are XY cis women), reproduction (there are cis women who can't reproduce and can never reproduce), or, as you weirdly put it, drugs. There are cis women who need drugs to regulate their hormones.
Do you refuse to respect women until you see their medical records? their chromosomes? Their hormonal balance? Their genitals? If you do you're a bigot. and an asshole. if you don't until you think the woman or man is transgender, then you're a bigot, an asshole, and a hypocrite.
Science says trans women are women, that trans men are men, and the way to treat dysphoria is by recognizing the reality of their gender, and helping them live that truth

Wow. I didn't mean to offend. In the first comment, I meant that aside from what you tell me was misinformation, I don't see why I should disagree with someone that identifies as a gender other then the one they were born with. I'm sorry. Frankly, I believe that no-one has the right to tell someone else how to identify.
Ok, I see the misunderstanding. Cis and trans women are both women, but you need to account for their bodies in treating them medically, in the way that you would a tall woman or a young woman.
In this case it's more accurate to say that trans women are not cis. They're still women when getting medicine, even if being trans is relevant to their treatment. Being a trans woman is more important than their assigned gender.

My belief that no one can tell someone how to identify, actually stems from my belief that no-one can tell another how to worship. (At least I think it does.) I've heard so many people tell me so many conflicting thing, that now I'm convinced that anyone who clams to know the will of god is either a fool or a liar.
"If you do you're a bigot. and an asshole. if you don't until you think the woman or man is transgender, then you're a bigot, an asshole, and a hypocrite."
I'm sorry of this comes across as rude but someone needs to tell you this
Before you starts yelling or calling people asshole and stuff, you should ask them what they meant by their comment(s). Like Steampunk, you never tried to understand them, you just started to yell at them. If I was a person wanting to ask a question or a statement about your art and saw how you respond, I wouldn't want to say it due to the inevitable name calling and backlash. I was scared to ask a question on your other Transgender artworks due to the responses to others. If you have anger issues or any other mental problems that cause you to yell before thinking, the I suggest you talk to somebody about it because it might be getting out of hand, like I said before I'm trying not to be rude or offense, just saying something that I think you should be told.

cis women win fights against women all the time in mma. they get injuries too. fallon fox also loses fights against women in the same size category.
Trans people have not been shown to have an unfair advantage in sports, and trying to push trans women out of women's sports just promotes misogynist ideas about women that are then used to attack cis women too. anti-black racism will use all the tools that transphobia brings up.

I think a lot of the controversy boils down to early development and how long a trans athlete has been on hormones.... there are physical differences developed during puberty such as bone density, bone structure, and muscle to fat ratio which ends up with different bodies.... Going on hormones reverses these developments but it takes time
Certain sports favor certain types of bodies.... and having an athlete that only recently underwent the transition can put them at an advantage or disadvantage.... allowing the hormones to work and take effect to physically change the person should be something to look into...
I don't want to stop anyone from doing what they love... but I don't want people to get hurt or treated unfairly... on either side of the argument...

a study on transgender road runners has found that 1 year into an HRT, there is no difference between trans and cis women.
any trans woman is going to have less testosterone than cis women, and between that and all the resulting physical changes, they perform in line with cis athletes. as is a lot of trans women already face requirements to demonstrate their low testosterone levels for sustained periods.
forcing trans atheletes to compete in trans only competitions is both an explicit rejection of trans identity, and without any scientific backing, it's just being pushed by bigotry. it narrows the field so much as to simply be barring them from sports competitions

See, I've been trying to argue this shit with my boyfriend, but he says that a trans person has all this time to build up muscle mass before they transition.
But I told him about the science behind it regarding hormones, but he says trans women who have been working out for *decades* before HRT are physically stronger than a cis woman who has been working out all her life.
I told him that hormones can shift muscle mass, but he think the margin is "too small to level the playing field."
;n; any idea of what I can tell him? You seem hella informed :3

you're only as strong as you've been keeping up, including the contribution from hormones and body chemistry.
like someone actually doing strength training who stops can lose a lot of muscle (like 80 percent) in two weeks, or like 3 months if you're a lifelong trainer. source: https://www.livestrong.com/article/.....-not-training/
going onto hrt fuckin destroys your testosterone as a trans woman. it shoves that below the levels of a cis woman, and testosterone is the big hormone for muscle growth and maintenance.
There have been studies on hormone therapy and athletic potential, ex https://cosmosmagazine.com/biology/.....ge-study-finds links to the study that led the olympics to have trans people compete in the olympics as their actual gender (the olympics up the required hormonal treatment to be 2 years, just to be safe). While also discussing a more specific study based on running. But both of these studies are about people who have been doing all the work of being an athlete before, during, and after their medical transition.

Interesting articles... I would have preferred these had been linked during our discussion rather than after so I had gotten the notification...
(Fortunately this had been an interesting enough conversation for me to consider checking back later)
Regardless I am still cautious towards the issue.... the Olympics are highly regulated and no doubt have developed rules and regulations regarding Trans in sports....
Unfortunately not every sports association is obligated to follow the same rules... the majority of my issue regarding the deal with Trans in sports is in situations that aren't so highly regulated...
High School sports is probably the best example where even Trans athletes who haven't been transitioned and are still physically Cis-gendered are allowed to compete others of the gender they identify with...
If you have more articles and whatnot I'd be happy to take a look at them
