Vampires sparkle in the sunlight
Vampires sparkle in the sunlight. Don't try to argue with the logic of this. They just do.

Well it'd be kinda hard for these vampires to hunt during the day given the fact that they sparkle in sunlight. So I'd imagine you'd see them a mile away. Even if it was an over cast day it's just somehow not as creepy. I mean think about it. One of the main reasons vampires can scare us so is because they're creatures of the night. Lurking in the darkness where we can't see them and we often don't see them until it's too late. Humans are diurnal. Active during the day. We have very poor night vision compared to many other animals. It's part of why we naturally fear the dark. Something could see us but we wouldn't see it.
With these vampires out during the day at will well what separates them from really just another animal they can prey upon humans? It takes away the mystique of the vampire.

There really was no good reason ever given for the vampire's restriction to night time other then the old religious bullcrap that they were unholy and would wither in the light. We accepted it for so long that now someone's deciding things differently and we criticize them for it.
that....... and a werewolf could kick a vampires butt. vampires have too many weaknesses. crucifixes, daylight, stake in the heart, cant enter a home without being invited in
werewolves, they just need a full moon, and are weak against silver, especially to the heart
think about it, you can make a stake out of almost anything, but how many people can afford enough silver to kill a werewolf?

Dunno, vampires have been portrayed in so many different ways from just a slightly strong human with a thirst for blood to nearly a god like creature with the ability to control people's minds and transform into various forms. You could essentially burn them to ashes and over enough time they'd regenerate. I think Anne Rice defined the vampires best. The strong ones from her world would have little problem dispatching a werewolf since they'd find the werewolf when they were stuck in human form and kill them when they least expected it. The vampires from Underworld weren't much of a match for the werewolves.
It's not that we criticize her for breaking the age old myth.... we criticize her for creating a solution to that myth that is so laughably impossible.... so blindingly stupid and so massively unrealistic that it makes the Chinese myth that you need to make your house have a 1 inch lintel all around the doorway (the door boarder) so you can prevent zombies from entering your house.... because zombies can only "hop".... seem plausible.
Plus she single handed-ly butchered literacy as we know it.... people are claiming her books are high school reading level.... this is numbing down English expectations to the point that fan-fiction seems high literature.

The movie was alright and this is a neat lil concept but ultimately it just ends up taking away from the vampire. A creature which is supposed to invoke the fear of the night and lose of life. Also really if you saw a sparkly person even if you knew it was a vampire would your first reaction be fear? No you may stand there in awe of how pretty it is or get a laugh out of it perhaps but your not instantly afraid. The mystery of the night brings on that fear because the vampire hunts in it. He hunts where we're most vulnerable. We have poor night vision so we fear the dark. Pure and simple. Give me a more traditional vampire any day.
A real vampire doesn't sparkle in the sunlight but it's skin is charred and it burns like a torch in the day. That is the true vampire.
