I'm looking forward to private servers and mods, a story, human NPCs, and return to Steam (and at least 200 bugs to be fixed!) before playing 76. I suspect I'm waiting a while given Bethesda's track record. :P
Would you recommend it in its current state even without the above items? All the game play I've seen of it just looks so boring and repetitive with other players screwing up the experience.

Eh, me and my husband play from time to time. We've only met one duo who were trying to camp a train station.
It's not the best Fallout there is but to be honest we have had a blast playing it. The story is there if you like reading and listening to old tapes (plus action from various monsters).
If you don't feel it's worth the play-through I can recommend Oxhorn on Youtube and his FO76 Lore videos. :)
