The Magic of Storytelling
I keep forgetting I haven't shared this one yet!
This illustration was done for the cover of The Coyotl Awards Anthology, the last book that Fred Patten edited before he passed. I was very grateful to work on it, and with Fred, who will be greatly missed within this and other fandoms.
Here, Coyote is telling stories with the assistance of a little magic. Each of the characters apart from Coyote is one featured in one of the stories in the anthology. The book can be purchased from FurPlanet here: https://furplanet.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=1060
The artwork was done with acrylic paints and acryla-gouache on illustration board.

This is simply gorgeous. I love the theme. As a writer myself, I've always been fascinated with stories and all the ways people have brought them to life over the course of human history. Everything from telling stories around the tribal fire or long house, to plays, books and film, it's always a magical process. You've really captured that spirit so beautifully here, too. It's simply perfect for the cover illustration for a book of stories, and the detail you've put into everything, from the rocky mesa, to the characters, to the literal magic being woven around each one is simply breathtaking. Gorgeous work on this and thank you so much for sharing!
I bought a copy of this book two weeks ago, and I instantly recognised the cover as being in your style. This has to be one of the most beautiful covers I have ever seen, and it captures the essence and feel of storytelling so well, it might as well be a perfectly fitting pair of gloves. ^^
