Before explaining better this drawing I want to clarify that I still love to draw ponies and other MLP characters and I'll keep doing that. If you were expecting a new MLP drawing from me. Don't worry, there will be more soon.
Once again I'm here with a drawing completely apart the MLP universe. This time with another children TV show that I used to watch when I was too young, this time pretty silly and simple but I love dragons so...
For those who don't know, it was called Dragon Tales and it is pretty simple to explain since cute and kind dragons lived in a dragon land and had adventures there with two human friends. This character is Cassie and she was always my favorite one from the show. Why? Because she is kind, smart but usually too shy and nervous and I felt identified with her a lot. I was researching and it seems there are some drawings of her padded already, but a really low quantity of them and usually in low quality too, so I think this is one of the first ones with a really decent quality to show. You probably know how much I love creatures like dragons so you don't have an idea about how much effort and love I put in this drawing. I'm also taking this chance to improve my techniques and for example in this case, making detailed shadows in the character, something that I find pretty hard but amazing for a great result!
I'm completely impressed with the final result and in my opinion is one of my best creations and a really good contribution to this small group of fanarts of this adorable dragon girl. Hope all of you really like it and remember, I'll continue drawing ponies, I was just taking a break to explore new possibilities and learn more.

Oh, wow! Allow me a minute to just say how much I really wish I could see with my own eyes right now. I am so excited to hear, when you have a moment, your heartwarming story about why Cassie was your favorite of the Dragon Tales characters. I also would enjoy hearing the pose you have her in.
I have been trying to find art through using a series of button commands with the software in which allows me to interact with you and our other friends. I now will use clues in the submission name to see if it is something I can make a good guess at. Your title definitely got a wonderful picture in my head that will only get better when you get time to share it.
"Dragon Tales" is one of the shows that inspired my writing when I first really tried to make my own work. Cassie was my favorite, too, and I always wished I could have given her a big hug.
When I could draw, I used Cassie's wing design to help me make depth when I would draw wings. I borrowed a lot of what my "Welcome To Saurral Manor" stories are built upon by how friendly and fun 'Dragon Land' is. The only other inspiration, which I found before Dragon Tales, was a show called "Pocket Dragon Adventures".
Padded Cassie is, like you said, very rare. Most of what I find is usually done for
iedino.
tacki did a piece that, in 2008, inspired me to join this site to see if I could be accepted for who I was.
So it does say a lot to know someone else not only drew Cassie but likes Cassie, too. Knowing you did this makes me so very happy!
Did you ever listen to the 'Cassie' song in "Dragon Tales"? I saw the 'Dragon Tunes' sing-a-long and loved how they started by showing Cassie get drawn. The song is very gentle and inspiring. I actually bought the 'Dragon Tunes' CD to hear that song.
For a time, I owned plush versions of Cassie, Zak & Wheezie, and Ord. Cassie's plush was fun as it had a lot of different textures and parts you could know they were there even if you could not see. An example is the little freckles were different material than the fabric used for her pink body. She, like the others in the set, also had a pouch you could put things in. She also, like the others, would talk if you squeezed her hand. They used the actual voice actor voice, too!
An influence for my self-published series of Haposaur books was the design for the little book of "Dragon Tales" entitled "Cassie Loves A Parade". It is basically the episode in a short picture book. It was very colorful and did provide a lot of ideas on how, when the time came, I would make my first book with
ishi.
Oh, hurray! Thanks for putting your wonderful talent towards another very deserving character.

Hi there Yosh. Thank you once again for taking the time to write such a long and detailed message to me related to my drawing.
I have to say that explaining in a detailed way why Cassie is my favorite character of Dragon Tales is really complicated. Her personality was something I always loved as well as her design. She was cute, adorable, kind, small, shy with a curious voice a big heart and she loved to learn new things. All those things are always features that I appreciate a lot in a character and usually if a character of any show has tons of this features, he is automatically my favorite one. I have to admit that sometimes I wanted to see the show just to watch her, to see if there was new cute dialogues from her that I didn't heard still or new poses for example.
It's really nice how Dragon Tales played an important part of your inspiration for writing. This is one of the support for my theory of how important are cartoons and children TV shows in our society. One of the most underrated pillar where our society is built. I have to say that I never heard about a song of Cassie. I don't remember tons of songs from Dragon Tales, but I wouldn't really mind to hear it. Should be amazing! And having a plush of her.... Wow! That should be completely amazing. She already looks in the show like a big plush so imagine how would be a real-life plush of her. That thing of the plush talking sounds really curious but honestly I prefer average plushies. Those that you can hug without worries because they're only filled of plush and love

I think you and I both like Cassie for the same reasons. I always was happy when Cassie was shown more in an episode.
Cassie also had some cute little brothers and sisters. These were Kiki and Finn.
I could probably find the Cassie song on YouTube. Would you be able to access USA YouTube? If so, I can find a link for you.
Another fun thing to think on is Cassie's voice and Sweetie Belle's voice. They both are very cute.
For the English Dubs of "Dragon Tales", I can share how the voice of Emmy was also played by Pinkie Pie / Fluttershy's voice actor, Andrea Libman. The voice of Wheezie comes back as Trixie and Chrysalis in MLP fathleen Barr.
It is fun to think on how we grew up with some of the voices that brought our favorite characters to life.
A quick story, if I may share, is when I was at BronyCon in 2017. Ian Corlette and Clare Crolette were both sitting at the same autograph table. Ian is the father of Clare and Clare is the voice of not only Sweetie Belle but also did voice work in a fun show called "Dinosaur Train". Her father, Ian, was the voice of Mr. Conductor and Clare was Tiny Pteranadon.
Before Clare was even born, her father did the voice of the Pocket Dragon, Filbertt in "Pocket Dragon Adventures".
So, tucked away nice and safe, is a picture I never saw with my own eyes but, truly, is one of my greatest treasures. It is Sweetie Belle on The Dinosaur Train calling out, "Time tunnel! Time tunnel approaching!" as Mr. Conductor and Tiny Pteranadon stand behind her. My character, Yosh, is by Filbert.
Ian was so very happy about how I recognized him for his roles in "Dinosaur Train" and "Pocket Dragon Adventures". It was great to see him so happy alongside his daughter.
There is a great site known as "Behind The Voice Actors" that allows you to look at the history of what shows, movies, and/or games a voice actor has done. If you have not tried it yet, I bet it could be fun to see if you have grown up to someone who has given life to your favorite characters for years.
For me, Cathy Weselcuk and Tabitha St. Germain go back the furthest. Cathy had her start around 1985 and I would have heard Tabitha in 1989. Cathy for the show "Kissyfur" and Tabitha for "Beetlejuice: The Animated series".

Wow! It sounds really interesting all that you said about voice actors. It would be amazing being so close of people that you find their job really amazing. You should feel lucky because I think I would never have a chance like that in my life.
Talking about Cassie's song. Yeah, don't worry, as far as I know, the entire world (with some small exceptions) have access to worldwide Youtube so I've already found the song from the album that you mentioned. It's really nice! I was expecting something different to be honest but I like it a lot. It's pretty sad that in this part of the world you never get noticed about this kind of things.
PS: I also love Dinosaur Train. What a cute and amazing show at the same time, especially those episodes of sea animals. Tiny is my favorite character by the way

How wonderful! This means that, if going by English VAs, you can connect Clare Corlette to some really good memories.
I miss how Tiny and earlier Sweetie Belle had that squeaking sound. It was adorable.
I do consider myself most fortunate for such opportunities. It is hard doing much in the United States if you have a disability. Though I'm pretty sure it is not easy in your part of the world, too. It is hard to think of any country that has good support for those of us who are not lucky enough to be born without a disability. However I hope meeting other people, like myself, does help you feel more understood, appreciated, and aware that your art is helping others to know they, too, can find a place of acceptance and appreciation.
I am glad you liked the Cassie song. She is just so cute! the song seems calm as I would always see her being.
It is going to be a lot of fun seeing what you are inspired to draw next. You have done a lot of really wonderful illustrations that bring back happy times while showing how truly creative you are.
