I just saw you worked with maya, how did you transfer it in vrchat? did you make visemes with blendshapes? I usually see people use blender to do vrchat models, no one relly uses maya so I'm a bit lost ;w;

I still use it because of the powerful tools it has for rigging and some modeling. Early on there wasn't a big thing or even ability to do full body or least what I could test at the time so it didn't matter how the joints decided to be when they went right from Maya to Unity. (That being before this picture seeing I am standing with full body) However, once I tried to get a consistent working way for full body (as they changed it a lot over the years) best way I fixed those early issues and even later to be consistent is pass it through Blender and used "CATs" plugin to "fix" magically whatever weird brokenness that Maya seems to do XD I don't know what all goes on but it always been a hassle to deal with and I don't get y Maya being a huge industrial program never made a good way to export FBX to work well for Unity as well as Blender that I seen.

That just how things are and saying in the end, I do get a working well done avatar, I guess there not too much to complain on and it just tools I like to use and experience on for so many years.

yea it's just so ridiculous how maya is such a big and professional software yet you really cannot do such things with maya only, but need other third programs' support -.-
I'm looking forward to make my own model and hoping it'll end up well :3 pretty scared for the expressions part tho XD

Just work one thing at a time and may take a few tries to get it figured out so don't worry if the end result is not what you want. Being your first tries will likely have mistakes. Be interesting to see what you make :)
