Hmm. Perhaps this may be what we get for the next iteration of Smash Bros.? Super Small Bros. Crawl? Some characters would actually come off quite cute for such a variation like this. Yoshi, Pkachu, King Dedede.
"Final Destination" would be a crib where Master Hand is trying to pull you out. Beat him, along with Crazy Hand, and your character gets an original Smash Bros. like ending where you see them return to normal and sit up from their bed to wonder if it was all just a dream. :)

And maybe that everyone knows that the super smash bros series was just a kid playing with his toys, so maybe when the kid grew up and had a family, he gave his baby son his toys when he was his son's age to play with and I'm pretty sure the kid's son liked Kazooie and Kirby the most.
Exactly!
One could say the first Smash Bros. was the kid's thoughts as he played some of his first games. This would explain the small roster of players as most kids do better with fewer favorite characters as they engage in play.
Then you can see each addition to the series as the same kid growing up and building his video game wisdom and collection until we get to where he's all grown up and seeing how his developed imagination now has nearly limitless potential for creating possible battles.
The idea of this initial player having a kid, and excited to share some of his favorite toys, with their child would definitely be super cute! It's fun to share those things you liked as a kid with your kid. :)
