Anyone that's had a character pop up out of the blue and begin talking to them knows how frustrating it can be, because you don't always get the full picture right away.
This is Miele, and she's... hard to describe. As near as I can tell, she's a cross between a seer (or an Oracle, otherwise she's god-touched) and a shaman (She's a priest or spiritual leader with a vast repository of knowledge). Hopefully she'll stop being enigmatic and actually explain what it is she does, and what purpose she serves for her people. And, you know... WHO her people are would be good too. All I know for now is that her immediate family are horse breeders.
The iris and pupils of her eyes are faded, so her eyes actually do look blank. She is blinded, but the lack of visual distraction lets her see the world around her much more clearly. And it just as clearly doesn't stop her from doing things she wants to do.
I'm not sure if her clothing is her typical attire, or if she's dressed up/down for some particular reason. I feel sure she'll let me know, one way or another.
Starting to post some of my more fantasy-oriented stuff here as well, I hope you all like it. :)

any horse is special whether they won a championship or not. I still remember having to train a horse who was abused by men and he was the laziest trying to go over a jump but was nice to the women. I've never seen a welsh pony that was a strawberry roan. I'm trying to remember, isn't there such a thing as a "purple roan"? I remember a boarder claiming an appy as one.
I've... never heard of a purple roan. The Welsh was lovely, had a beautiful strawberry blonde mane and tail, lovely red color. She was really fiesty, guess that stereotype about redheads holds true. :)
To my knowledge, the QH mare never won diddly, but she made a great saddle horse for me when I was learning to ride. She was amazingly patient. :D

No worries! I never had a proper sidesaddle, and my parents didn't want to shuck out extra money for an English saddle, so.. I just hooked my knee around the saddle horn (which is alot more precarious than it sounds), and... tried not to go much faster than a walk. ;)
The only benefit to this was, if I started losing balance, I could stand up in the one stirrup, unhook my leg and jump off before I fell off. ;)

that's true plus you can wear a skirt like you character over the saddle and no one could tell about your leg position. it wouldn't be hard to dismount and by riding sidesaddle you develop stronger thigh and calf muscles. I still have my western saddle and had to sell an old English saddle but I can't find the rest of my tack
