Their coolant system is sufficiant for their engines, like real cars. But all the hydraulics, hydraulic pumps, electronics need cooling as well so they cool with an evaporative cooling method. The water is taken from the food/drink they consume like everything else. Anthro-cars have a certain H20 intake need like people do but it's strictly for sweat so it depends on temperature and exertion.

Joking aside you respect lore, and I respect that. I've put a shit town of lore into my world honestly probably more than it deserves. A lot of it isn't even released yet with the backlog of stuff I haven't released yet. But I'll let you in on it here for you to enjoy.

Something you need to understand about AniMECH, they're actually a pretty moral company by giant mega-corp standards go. Their CEO, Takahiro Yamamoto, was there when the AI went from artificial to legit intelligence, basically the birth of the artificially created soul that is not in every anthro-car. So you could say he has a sort of father complex when it comes to the artificially created thinking feeling beings his company has created. So as a matter of company policy they created the bodies of these anthro-cars to be able to indulge and enjoy all of the acts, sensations, emotions, and satisfactions any typical human would within their powers. (hence the lore reason these cars have human sex organs rather than just a usb port or something.. to enjoy the sacred act of sex with a lover like people do)

The reason I tell all this? Well because food my friend. Yes anthro-cars can go to gas stations and be pumped up with fuel like any car, but AniMECH mad it so they can enjoy food as well, their fuel tanks are designed like stomachs with specialized filters and sub-compartments. Their bodies run on gasoline, rather their engines do. But they can still enjoy the sensation of eating a steak for example, chewing it, tasting it, swallowing it. The only thing is their bodies literally can't digest it or use it for anything, so after a time they just poop it out (hence the lore reason for car-buttholes other than for gay cars)

NOW, something else to keep in mind. As shown in the fetal car development picture, their robotic bodies are more like organic machines with nanites acting almost like cellular activity. Non-gasoline solid foods made FOR cars have high contents of iron, silicates, hydrocarbons, ect.. the building blocks for the non-organic elements that make up their bodies and while portions of 'fillers' that make up solid car food go out the pooper like human foods, the nanites can absorb and use those elements in the body. For self-repair, and in growing infant cars... physical bodily growth and development.

So in this world, like ours, Tesla is owned by Elon Musk. In my world he's far less successful having to complete with AniMECH and his Teslas are essentially a knock-off using technology he begrudgingly had to license from AniMECH themselves, thus his cars are legally required to be held to the same moral standards as part of the licensing agreement. (the whole thing was a corpXcorp legal nightmare that took years to work out)

So to finally answer your question, yes an anthro-Tesla's engine does not need gasoline for their engines. But they still have a stomach and are able to still enjoy the sensation of for example, sitting down with the family in a park and eating a meal with them, and whatever digestible elements are in the food they eat will be used and the rest discarded. A Tesla mother still has breasts and produces milk like any other car, the only thing missing is the gasoline content, it's purely milk containing building elements to 'nourish' and provide the nutrients their bodies need to grow.

Side Note: Did you know baby cars literally don't even HAVE any sexual organs? A baby female car doesn't even have undeveloped breasts, they literally don't exist. Baby cars are like Barbie/Ken dolls down there. As an example of how the nanites develop their bodies as they grow, an AniMech car will literally develop these organs internally atom by atom over the years until they hit car-puberty and these parts become externally visible.
