Decided to turn my scruffy character concepts into something a bit more legible and swish now I'm at my PC. Also gave me the opportunity to fix some errors.
Here we have Falco Lombardi from Universe 2.0 of this whole Star Fox multiverse I'm crafting from the disparate endings of Star Fox Command.
I know he seems to have gone through some rough stuff but this incarnation of Falco is actually my favourite character so far. The McClouds have done well, making up for the dismal time Fox and Krystal have of it in Command, and their stories will have their own challenges to overcome, but nothing like Falco's very human story of trying to pick yourself up after a bad fall.

In my headcanon it’s because Fox wanted to actually be there to raise his kids rather than possibly leave them fatherless like he experienced when James died or put them in harms way raising kids aboard the Great Fox.
Also I’m following a particular Command ending and that’s what happens.

A dogfight on Titania during a sandstorm. He lost and, unable to eject, he had to guide his Skyclaw down. Unfortunately the crash and the subsequent two days while the rest of his squad looked for him, meant his broken legs couldn't be saved and had to be amputated in order to free him from the wreckage.
He then took over a year to recuperate, by which time Star Falcon (Basically Star Falco only Dash and Katt persuaded him not to be a complete copy-cat of Fox) essentially couldn't go on. It's part of what has led to his depression and the near-collapse of his family-life, and why he's decided to sign up with Marcus's crew as a way of trying to regain his lost youth and prove he is still an Ace.

Command was full of some interesting ideas executed poorly. I know I'd much rather have had a different sequel to Assault and game to end the Lylat Wars saga off on, but I can work with it.
One thing it brings to the table is the possibility of alternate universes, which I do get a kick out of.
