It's quite a nice lens. It's great for portraits too and medium telephoto stuff.

And what body are you using?

Canon Rebel XTi/400D. It should say so in the Exif data below the pic on the right.

Awwww! I love Wolf Spiders. They have such a graceful yet silly character :3
I flipped a gorgeous Wolfie a few days ago- I believe it was a male- that had an outstanding amount of pinkish coloration on him/her. Sadly, I didn't have a camera nearby, and I didn't want to stress the adorable arachnid by moving it too much(I'm still learning how to handle Arthropods, XD) so I just let him go under the board where I found him.
It's nice to see others who appreciate 'creepy' crawlies :)

I pretty like spiders and was doing my final university diplome work from epigeic spiders, what includes mostly wolf spiders. The only thing I hate to work with them they are a pain in the ass to determinate and in many cases you have to stress out the arachnids terribly, or kill them to find out what species it was...

Yeah, I normally don't even try to ID them past Family. Even getting them to Genus is tricky.

But she had some very distinct ventral patterns that I unfortunately wasn't able to capture with the camera, that led me to Hogna lenta.

That is definately a stunning macro shot, I can understand how difficult it is to get a subject like that so well focused. 'Tis adorable.

Wolf spiders can be pretty cooperative subjects for the most part. Often they will behave if I put them in a large container and not move much.

Beautiful coloring on her. I also love wolf spiders. Like little tarantulas, they are.

This both fascinates me and creeps me the hell out. Lol.

They're just so.....alien looking. Unlike anything else out there, so I guess why they're kinda creepy at times. Heh.

As long as it's a docile tarantula! I'd probably never try that with an Asian species.

I am aware that not all old-world tarantulas are aggressive. But, there is a trend.

Don't be weird about it.

When I say, aggressive, I don't mean that they're out to get you.

I mean that when it comes to fight or flight, they may go with fight more often than flight.

This capture really showcases the creature's eyes. I've always wondered how spiders experience vision.

It varies by species. Some can really only detect changes in light. Others like Jumping spiders have great vision, just with a narrow field of view.
