Rafe Silves - Hereditary
This piece of art is dearly special to me as it's evocative of many of my personal feelings all wrapped up into one, pitch-perfect "snapshot"
The Veiled Crown Rafe is holding within the image belonged to Rain. It originally comes from none other than this [iconic artpiece] commissioned in the past by my best friend
Rakakuza . It is a piece of history which I am very fond of and wished to pay homage in my own way.
For this piece I've chosen a very special song, which partially inspired the motif for me. The lyrics have been extremely helpful and touching to me.
This is the fifth "deep-dive" drawn attempt by
Raesheris at nailing the visual aesthetics of the character, as explained in the initial Concept art post.
I'm more than happy to say that I adore this aesthetic to the fur and overall traits having been solidified more thoroughly alongside the colors and pattern.

He had found moments, little pieces of her life, that reminded him in the most subtle ways.
Faint memories, a dream, or belonging of hers...
They would be mementos like the red tattered silk cloth, or simple, silly, or dumb events he would slowly recall.
And be they happy or sad, he'd have wanted to cry.
But they were pieces of her, and he held them tight.
And they were there, with him. Even though she was gone.
He held onto his empty veiled crown
