Wiggmajigg, the larva pokemon
Wiggmajigg is a very small bug-type pokemon that spends most of its life in the water. Its large mouth is equipped with a sharp tooth for slicing aquatic vegetation, but it can give a painful nip if mishandled. When wiggmajigg feels threatened it wiggles its body back and forth to "swim" away, but it's not very fast. Because it's easy prey for a lot of aquatic pokemon, it emerges at night to feed, when it is somewhat more difficult to spot in the gloom. Its gills are actually at the end of its body so it can live in even stagnant water by raising its back end out of the water and eating while facing down. Wiggmajigg evolves into Mosquitch (female) and Mostilto (male) at level 15.
Mosquitch, the itching pokemon
Mosquitch is a very small bug-and-dark type pokemon very common in the Osai region, such that some people mockingly refer to it as Osai's "national flying-type". It is a somewhat clumsy flier but makes up for its lack of agility by living parasitically off of larger pokemon and humans. It likes to attack sleeping prey, so it's often found by night, though caves, deep forests, and bogs are all good places to find a whole swarm of mosquitch - they're certainly happy to find you! When they attack as a swarm they can drain a tremendous amount of blood from their prey. Their bites also itch for days afterwards, leaving a raised red lump.
Mostilto, the longlegs pokemon
Mostilto is a small bug-type pokemon that if often confused for the female, mosquitch, and attacked accordingly. Mostilto however don't drink blood and very rarely attack people. These gentle, misunderstood bugs drink nectar and honey, and only a small amount at a time. They are poor fliers and are often found resting on tree trunks after a night gathering food. Because they are clumsy and somewhat guileless, mostilto are prey for many bird- and bat-pokemon, predatory bugs, and aquatic pokemon.
Osaigon Bidoof, the plump mouse pokemon
A regional variant of bidoof, this small water-and-steel type pokemon lives in alpine meadows and grassy foothills in the Osai region. Its durable, flexible pelt was prized by settlers for a long time and it was hunted almost to extinction hundreds of years ago. Its population has since recovered and it is now very common. Bidoof eats aquatic vegetation mostly but also comes onto land to eat tender shoots and buds. Because of its coat that traps a layer of air close to its skin, it can stay active all year long, even in the frigid winter. It uses its extremely tough teeth to chew holes in the ice if its river or pond is frozen over. Bidoof evolves into bibarel at level 20.
Osaigon Bibarel, the beaver pokemon
A regional variant of bibarel, this medium-sized water-and-steel type pokemon lives in lakes and ponds all over the Osai region, Where it can't find suitable habitat, it creates one by making a dam from logs to flood out an area. Bibarel live in large communal nests called lodges, make of sticks and mud, that they construct in their ponds and stock with food during the summer. They remain active all winter, and regularly emerge from their lodges to play on the frozen ponds - skating and sliding on their tails seem to be popular pastimes. Large families of bibarel have been observed passing rocks over the ice by slapping them with their tails.
