Since I have been using the same reference sheet for Giovanni Magnus for nearly four years, I figured it was time to update it.

Giovanni was born on a distant world where magic was prominent, and his people had a long history of protecting the world from outside intervention ever since the wars of the Gods came to an end. The Magnus family was a powerful and well respected one within his culture, leading to a lot of duress from all around, be it from his own elders, those who wanted him to take a certain path, or those who sought his unique ability for their own gain. As with many of his kind, and, in particular, his blood line, Giovanni possessed a unique expression of his spiritual aura, where he could be in tune to the emotional state of others, and draw power from the psychic energy given off by the fear of others - this power could become overwhelming if not contained, and thus was controlled by a set of inhibitors of his own design that he wears. Naturally, this led him to be sought out and potentially groomed for his powers.

After a tumultuous childhood and adolescence that had been scarred by altruists out to utilise his powers for their own gain, he activated his powers to their fullest, and the resulting rush enabled him to tear open a rift in time and fell through it. Through it, he arrived on a distant world, one that had its own war taking place. There, he figured he'd bide his time, and made himself the guardian of that world against all the evils, both those of light and dark, who attempted to poach what they believed to be a perfect world, and became the stuff of myth, the Grand Master of the Shadowlands; who felled the Vampyric Nobility that sought to drink the world dry; slayer of the Cardinal of Lust, whom was defeated by the Grand Master to retrieve the soul of his friend from Hell; vanquisher of the Twisted Virtue of Diligence, liberator of the innocent souls she corrupted in her zealous crusade; the last line of defence against any and all threats to the world of Animus.
