This series features my new banjo-ukulele or, as it is sometimes called a banjolele. It is constructed like a small banjo, but strung and tuned like a concert sized ukulele.
The bridge is the structure that raises the strings above the body of a stringed instrument. It also serves to transmit the vibrations of the strings to the instrument’s wooden top or, in this case, to the banjo head. The bridge of my banjolele is made of maple and is capped with a saddle made of ebony.
