Two foreign fighters in the Republican air force, trading dogfight stories over smokes and wine. Andre made it out of that last one by the skin of his teeth.... there's a certain hilarity to escaping death...and taking out a couple of fascist bosches instead!

I imagine you might have seen it already, but if you want further reading on the Spanish Civil War I recommend Spain in Our Hearts.
It's a real interesting look at the participation of Americans on both sides of the conflict while giving a shining spotlight to the Lincoln Brigade volunteers for the Republic.
Keep up the great work.

I know that aircraft, as I made one as a 3D model. it's a damned difficult aircraft to draw as the proportions are so odd. The Polikarpov I-16 "Ishak". or "Mosca in Republican service, or "Rata" by the Phalangists. I don't recognize the tail insignia. I think the most successful squadron used Dominoes as their tail marking, but another used Mickey Mouse? Popeye was used as another. Teh squadrons were entertainingly organized, but when the 109B and C's arrived the Little I-16s didn't fare quite as well.
