Firstly, let me apologize for the delay between chapters. March was a crazy month, and honestly, I’m impressed I was even able to get this much done. This chapter has been though several revisions and edits, and I know it’s way shorter than my first upload (by almost half), even though this is supposed to be the first proper chapter. I decided I didn’t want a whole lot of unnecessary exposition at the outset, and decided to leave that to flashbacks in later chapters, so a lot of the extraneous dialogue and interactions I had written will be snippets in future chapters. Secondly, this is the first time I’ve tried writing as a nonhuman character, and it was harder for me to “get in the mindset.” If the writing is clunky now, know that it will improve with time. The next chapter should be a lot longer than either submission, and will be much more interesting, but as to why I’ll keep secret for now. It also should be out by the middle of April. Lastly, the secret “code” was a teaser for the main character of the series, but I get that many people aren’t weird like me and find codes interesting, so I won’t put any major spoilers in them, but I will continue to use them for future chapters. So if you have the proper clearance, feel free to pull back the redacted lines and try to break the code. As a side note, I’m talking with someone about making a title image for the series, and maybe a sketch like what was drawn in the prologue.
