Don't Want To Lose This Love Tonight Story Cover
Hi everyone, gotten some lovely Favorites on my newest submission of the Michael Andrews character reference sheet and figured I'd share this cover art of a potential story idea for him.
In this cover page, Michael is comforting a friend of his the great
reptilecynrik after finding out the great reptile revealed a great loss to him. As the 2 had previously confessed something important regarding feelings before Reptile revealed a loss that hurt him, the 2 currently comfort each other hoping they can support one another. Early evening is setting outside bathing our 2 friends in a sweet orange glow.
Fun fact: This title is related to the song Your Love by The Outfield for the lyric "I dont want to lose your love tonight" as I recently discovered lead singer Tony Lewis of the that 80s group passed away mysteriously in October 2020. Now while the song is about a guy having an affair, let me assure you that's not related to this photo.

Oh, hello there!
I thought you would upload this piece later or somewhere else... but nope, HERE it is!

And what a pleasant surprise!
The eye catcher is the title sign which strongly reminds me of a tavern sign (I suppose that was the idea after all). This sign has a very cool medieval design... I like the vine glasses, the curled steel and it looks very realistic overall.
This is not only a good logo but would also make a cool sign for a tavern. But in the end it IS a great title logo for a novel!

I have so much praise for the sign/logo... and I didn't say a single word about the main characters yet.

The overall scene is very lovely albeit a bit sad. There are a lot of emotions and exoression in this artwork - mostly expressed by the character's faces.
Michael has the saddest facial expression in this scene. He seems to be rather desperate and afraid to lose his love after this night.
Reptile looks also sad but more in a comforting way. I like how he's holding Michael's head... cradling and caressing Michael as if he'd say: "Don't worry, my love... you won't lose me!"
Reptile certainly is the stronger one... providing hope and care and that's pretty spot on (it suits his character).

Of course, the strong reptilian arms can be very soft and tender if he wants... and that's why he's holding his love very carefully.
I love how detailed Reptile's head is - all the little scales, thorns, spikes and even his scar are visible. GOOD!!!
I suppose his large scaled tail is also serving as some kind of embrace too... both his hands, tail and whole body embrace his lover!

The German flag/blanket is a nice addition by the way.

And the painting by Piet Mondrian in the background is a fun little addition too!

After reading the description again I can see that REPTILE (!!!) was the one in need of comfort and love... and I thought it was the other way around!

I suppose that's because (in my mind) Reptile is usually the one giving love and comfort... and he rarely needs comfort from others.
Or it's the fact that his reptile face is pretty hard to draw... it is hard to draw good, strong sad expressions on his face!

Okay, here goes my response:
1. Glad you see this as a pleasant surprise!
2. Given Reptile is mainly full of medieval style artwork, that played into the sign design as my mind figures it can be a great honor to design something right out of that century.
3. That's fine, my mind can be focused on certain details myself.
4. Michael is more sad once his reptilian friend reveals his great loss he had a personal connection with as in "I never knew you could have been suffering this much from that great tragedy" though he fears a bit Reptile might push him away since he had been holding it in for A LONG TIME
5. Reptile yes is going to reassure Michael he won't lose him tonight though he's allowing them to comfort one another right now. Oh and he has soft reptilian arms? That'll provide some good future art material Reptile is strong but I'm allowing him to be a bit more vulnerable here since his life has been long and he's lost many close to him which can be more detailed as I cobble together the story but I want to tie it to many of your characters since Reptile from your artwork has linen many anthros and humans
6. Well that amount of detail comes down to you providing us with about 15 years of artwork at the time of this comment and the artist's skill! Since Reptile has had artwork at the mid to late half of the 90's to this time, Mr Serum has many good references for working off of though there are a few of my choosing for him he worked with
7. You're welcome. Deciding on either this, the shorts, his red speedo or just nudity got me stuck but decided on the towel as a nice middle compromise since that can be removed easily for naughty time
8. Oh, that's what it is? I found the painting in my quest for 90s style bedrooms and this turned up in a 90's mansion king sized bedroom
9. Count on more ideas of Reptile fanwork Reptilecynrik but to clear it up, these are commissions I get from others. I'm not that skilled at anthro design but I do have the ideas to commission.
10. Keep an eye out, there is a 3rd member who'll actually be important to their bond in another artwork!

I missed Tony Lewis so much i love his voice and love his solo album Out of the Darkness 2018 he gave me a poster stage pass and sticker Tony is a great guy i missed Tony and John Spinks missed those guys i never ever got to chance to meet them those two its not fair i hope Tony and John where Rest in Peace Tony G.
