Here is a look at the newest addition to my herd. This unique instrument is a McNally Strumulele. A unique hybrid, it has the construction and steel strings of a strumstick, but four strings and a full complement of frets like a tenor ukulele.
What the heck is a strumstick? They are a super-easy-to-play instrument with three strings, typically tuned DAD (key of D) or GDG (key of G). The frets are arranged like that of a mountain dulcimer. With this design, you sacrifice the ability to play in every key, but in exchange, it is virtually impossible to play a wrong note.
