Salmon Run Revolutions: Swashbuckler Snatcher Designsheet
As one of the split-offs from regular Chum Grunts at Ft. Goldfin, the Swashbuckler Snatcher, being an important infantry special unit, these hardy Chums are often held to high standards above regular Chum Grunts, even if they technically rank lower than their frontlinesman brethren. The Salmannican Snatcher is assigned to protect Golden Eggs from the "Run Huns", stingy Humans, and other intelligent life whom may find these Eggs of power, valuable for their dark usages.
Having been trained in close fin-to-fin combat by a rare breed of Goldie Nobility whom have sworn military service as the "Aurum Spartans" for their many centuries-spanning lifespans, the Swashbuckler snatcher is often fond of up-close and personal combat, and enjoy a good gutting with their sharp kitchen knives they wield as combat daggers. Their trusty sidearm, the Slimelocke Naval Service Tetra, is a shooter-type weapon that is flintlock-based with multiple shots in mind. Able to keep intruders at bay and fall them at a fanciable medium range akin to that of the Jet Squelcher, although having terrible endlag and a rather long reload time.
Snatchers are capable of hauling three eggs, two on their backs, and one underarm. Having been caught in human fish nets for so many years, it was time for them to use these nets to capture their unborn brethren, and prisoners of numerous species. Speaking of prisoners, Snatchers also have a way of stealth-training to act as viable assassins and/or kidnappers to hold important figures for ransom. And in rare moments of the Salmmanican's own "chivalry", lead as head executioners instead of usual Cohock Officers.
It's eerie thinking to see how such a handsome young man could be a ruthless cold-blooded killer in such a deceiving manner, but it's often true. Some high-security prisoners or some charged with capital crimes often have a "chance of parole" being a Snatcher. So often at times, regular law-abiding Chums whom have enlisted (or were born into military service) are often side-by-side by radicalized criminals with a thirst for blood, and the way they can have fun legally killing others, is when they are currently in war fighting for their people.
All in all, the Snatcher is a often chaotic breed of Salmonid, with them frantically running to protect any Golden Eggs that have been dropped by their superior commanders, leaders, or supporting vehicles they commandeer. They know their role makes them prime targets to be attacked, but they are willing to fight tooth and fin for their nobility's precious golden relics, all for Queen Privateer and the Empire.
Im liking where i am going with this salmon run revolutions fanon thing for splatoon. Im pushing forward with this as practices for reference sheets and design templates. I enjoy where there are detailed reference sheets of characters that detail on some objects and items that some character have wearing, or the items and weapons they wield. Height charts also detail how tall someone is compared to others, so it helps to make actual proportions and heights for various characters in order to make a clear difference between such characters and people, etc. Would help nicely with making comics with numerous bodies in scenes and to keep designs consistent between slides.
Maybe i'll take a break from this project to go ahead and develop more of my original UNIPAK IP, as this is just a Fanon passion project of mine. Priorities can be a little bit difficult to maintain, that and i need to stop procrastinating and get work done. I have a handful of lineart i need to color in and some other work to do as well. That and i need to pay more attention to my other OC's and characters and etc. I just wish i could have more time, but if i have that, i'd end up being more lazy than before. I need to find a good balance of work and relaxation.
