A gryphon for the birds project.
When I usually draw "gryphons" they're basically birds with an extra set of limbs. But since this project is all bird creatures anyway I gave these ones a more typical lion-like body plan. Though its still avian and not a literal bird/lion hybrid. Wings are a bit to small to fly but they can aid in pouncing after prey.

Not a silly question at all! For this one, I transferred it. I scanned in the sketch, did some digital edits and resizing. I printed that version out and used a light box to transfer it. I do this for commissions and more complex personal work.
For regular personal work I'm trying to just paint on top of the sketch since its faster. But this ones gonna be a commission example so I did it in the same way I'll be working on commissions.
