Odin is always coming up with new gadgets in his lab. After all supervillains shouldn't be the ones to have all the fun. Some of them are useful on adventures, and some ar ejust to play with for funsies. Of cousre, any new gadget needs to be tested... And after taking an interest in alchemy to combine magic and science, Odin invented a little toy that he knew two kittens who wouldn't be able to resist playing with it to test its effects. An alchemical bounce toy, with an age regression aura that makes anyone near it while it bounces younger.
Of course, Odin is in range of the toy himself, and fully knows what's about to happen to him. But why should the kittens get to have all the fun?

Well, the picture of us getting transformed tends to be a lot more fun than getting one of Odin building some sort of machine to change us back later. Plus, the search and rescue nanobots were already established in one story... And just cause he's an infant doesn't mean he can't adjust a dial on a ray gun.
As a general rule, I do prefer permanent TF, but that's a bit difficult to do with fursonas unless you're just going to not have any continuity. Which I suppose would be easy enough to do, but writing the scenarios is too much fun to resist.

Honestly I prefer temporary transformations although that might just be because I like to have the ability to change and also AG is able to change into whatever he has been changed into previously(if he chooses to actually keep the form, and he does have limitations like not being able to change his own age for every form on the fly).
