Strange Norweegies.

LOL really? Evvvvery time I've seen it there's been epic swearing afterwards. People jumping out of their seats and yelling, "FUUUU" at the black screen. I need to go see more films in Norway- that sounds wonderful.

It is quite a neat experience in a strange kind of way, you just would not expect it from Norweegies being the conservative, image conscious, uptight people (as a whole).

You're probably quite right, actually (and I apologize for making gross generalizations) - the few people I ran into in Bergen were really nice, and there were some good people up/around Tromsø, also... One of the most amazing experiences I have had was going dog-sledding, at night, middle of winter to try and see some Aurora up in Tromsø...

However, despite the fact that 90-something percent of the Norwegian population is a member of the Church, I do not know any personal Christians. I've met a few, but they were pretty mellow individuals and all of them 75+ of age. My grandma grew up in a Christian household, but even she isn't what you'd call a "good Christian".

I think the whole religion thing is more about culture and tradition, especially, Christmas and Easter, things related to holidays, family and happiness. Almost all of my friends are legally Christians, but none of them believe in God. But I guess you knew these things already.

I have wondered a bit about the whole religion thing here, coupled with the fact that Norway also has had civil unions/gay marriages and the like for so long, which is not something you would normally expect from a highly religious country. When talking with co-workers they often say that they only go to church a couple of times a year or so - so it seems almost to be more of a tradition/special-occasion thing rather than something that is actually overtly religious.

Just do a search for "Deliverance" on YouTubular and you will get very quickly what I mean

I actually got a t-shirt of this movie as a giveaway for gamemasters in a RPG convention. Only after looking further into it I learned that it was connected with this movie, apparently the kind given as viral marketing at some point in time. I don't watch trailers that much, and rely mostly on people referring me to movies. Looks like this is one I need to watch. :}
