Back towards my beginner days, around 2008 or 2009, I had planned on making a Final Fantasy 4 Rosa, this very design. I never got the proper motivation to make her, until now, about 8 years later…. But I’m glad for that. This is her time to be crafted and brought to life by my hands. Pony base was a generation 1 Sweet Heart Sister pose. She had those glitter suns all over her so I had to rub them off with sand paper. Coated entire pony base in white gesso for surface prep, then 2 coats of a hand mixed blend of pale flesh tone acrylics. Eyes and lips also painted in my realism/fusion style. All paint work sealed in Artists Varnish. Mane and tail are rooted in nylon mlp hair in the colors Buttercreme, Honeysuckle, Golden Sun, custom blend of Golden Delicious & Sunlight, and recycled tinsel pale yellow hair I cut from another pony and saved. Hair is tied up in a half bun and pinned in place, front of the bun has an accessory of trim with a strip of gold vinyl and finished with gray and clear rhinestones. Tiara on forehead is a gold sequin trim with a line of clear rhinestones along the bottom with a metallic red rhinestone in the middle. I punctured both ears and made 2 chains of 3 silver hoops to make her earrings.Outfit- started with stiching the white leggings from a material that has silver accents to the detail print. I then made the boots from a very thin brown leather recycled from a pair of high heel Fergie boots I’ve kept around, and I stitched neutral purple scarf material inside the pentagon area. Used a rough texture of the brown boot leather for the soles, lined soles in brown suede fringe, Upper layer of boots is cut from faux silver vinyl and finished with gold metallic rhinestones in the center of the front.I painted some gold mesh trim burgundy red for the undermesh on her shoulders while I stitched her tank top from very thin faux fur material, and a pinkish beige velvet on the front chest lined with white elastic and strapped around the back of the neck. Pinned some gold and orange stones on front chest for the jeweled detail, stitched red ribbon to the painted mesh, then some faux deep red alligator print faux vinyl lined with cream colored ribbon. Front hoof gloves are thick white lace with dainty gold detailed ribbon stitched at the bottoms with layered lavender ribbons stitched then gold faux vinyl strips at the tops. I then started her belts and sashes, had to stitch a undergarment from purple cotton fabric, then a coral and red pleated sash on one side with clear drop beads stitched along bottom hem. Took some yellow lace and stitched layered strips of pale yellow velvet for the yellow sash, then I took the neutral thin brown boot leather and came up with 3 different textures off the boot and stitched her large brown belt. Detailed it with the brown suede fringe and some dark brown hemp cord. Clamped thicker silver wire pieces around the belt for detail. For the burgundy belt sash, I cut thin strips of the thin brown boot leather and stitched burgundy scarf material over it and lined the larger middle piece with black hemp cord, and silver rectangle jeweler piece and a gold rhinestone. Her sash of beaded trinkets is part of a gold chain necklace with purple drop and blue beads wired in place via floral wire. Took a large gold circle jeweler’s piece and glued a rhinestone on it to detail, painted silver paint around it, wrapped brown hemp cord around the stone and thick gold wire around it to finish the sash and belt details. I saved the cloak and shoulder armor pieces for last. Cloak is stitched in 4 layers, a bottom layer of wide white ribbon with printed gold detail then 2 layers of wide white lace with a thinner ribbon stitched in the middle with pale delicate gold detail that matches the gold lace on her front hoof gloves. I stitched a square of gold velvet to layer at the top then pinned cloak in place. Cut the shoulder armor in 4 pieces from thick white leather, cut 2 holes in the upper layers for the bone horns to poke through then hemmed the armor place edges in the dainty gold ribbon and shiny wired gold ribbon. I then stitched 2 bone horns on the bottom layers and poked then through the upper layer of the armor. I was amazed at how well it worked.
