Story
You’re surprised to find a gold oil lamp washed up on the beach near your little port town. Ships do travel these waters frequently; perhaps this was part of some cargo and fell overboard. You start to head back to town; maybe you can sell it at the local store. Then a though strikes you.
What if this is a genie lamp? It does look like the type; the people in your town always tell stories of genies and half-genies roaming the land and fighting off evil! Perhaps it’s a silly thought, but what’s the harm in trying right?
You eagerly give the lamp a few rubs on its gold surface.
Truthfully you weren’t expecting anything, so imagine your surprise when a burst of light flies out of the lamp’s spout and fills the space in front of you! Imagine your even greater surprise when the light fades revealing a girl that you can safely assume is a genie! And what a cute genie at that.
Her petit but curvy body has a copper complexion, with deep blue eyes and the longest purple hair you’ve ever seen! A gold crown wraps around her brow, and gold cuffs adorn her wrists. Her top is made of silky red fabric and is delightfully small for her modest breasts. Similar red fabric makes up her long pants that hug her strong hips and round butt.
“AAAAAUGH!” the genie gasps stretching her tired limbs. “Thank goodness someone got me out of that thing! Curse Risky Boots for trapping in that lamp! I don’t know how my ancestors used to live like that. There’s no leg room, no hair care, and don’t get me started on the décor!”
The genie notices you sitting on the beach still in a state of alarm. She smiles excitedly and helps you up. “OH! You must be the one who freed me! Thank you thank you thank you! I know this is all a bit sudden, but I was really in a bind. Now I can get back to Scuttle Town and…”
She stops mid ramble and looks at you properly. Her eyes soften for reasons known only to her. “Sorry, where are my manners. My name is Shantae, half genie hero.”
You introduce yourself and tell her you’re happy to have been of service. You tell her how you found her lamp and how shocked you were to find a real genie inside, albeit on trapped there by accident. You both share a laugh at the irony of it all.
“I’m not an expert on ancient genie traditions,” begins Shantae twirling her long hair in thought, “but wouldn’t I normally grant you three wishes right now? As thanks for releasing me that is. Oh that would be so fun!”
You agree that having your wishes granted would be an awesome thank you! But before you can even name your first wish, Shantae lets out a sad little sigh. “If only… I mean, I am only a half genie. I don’t think I can grant wishes just like that. My magic is only good for transforming and shooting fireballs and stuff. Sorry, I didn’t mean to get your hopes up. I still really want to repay you for helping me.”
You wrack your brain for an idea, not wanting to let this opportunity go to waste. Without meaning to your eyes get drawn once again to her voluptuous hips. Even through the thin fabric of her outfit, you can see the contours of her legs, every sensual curve.
You ask casually if she does some sort of sport, like running or dancing, wondering how she got so fit. Shantae surprises you again by jumping up in delight. “Oh yes, I love to dance! It’s part of my magic actually, and it’s just fun! Would you like to see some?”
At your eager nod Shantae takes off, going into a very expertly done, and very steamy, belly dance. The half-genie shakes her hips side to side, taps her feet, arches her back, and spins around, making her long hair twirl around her body like a purple ribbon. Needless to say you’re immediately captivated by her, how does that tight little body look even better in motion!
Shantae smiles in the enjoyment of her craft, then she notices your hungry stare and smiles for a different reason. The half-genie stops her dancing and walks up close to you… very close! Without warning she presses herself against you and stands on her tip-toes to look you in the eyes. The feeling of her warm body close to yours is only drowned out by those endless blue eyes!
“I uh… I think I know a way I can repay your kindness.” Her face goes a bit red from shyness. “How about we find somewhere more private, and I can give you a special kind of dance.”
You instinctively put an around her and affirm that sounds great. But that’s only one wish… what about the other two?
Shantae’s face goes redder. “Well… I guess that part’s up to you. I’ll just have to do whatever you ask. I can’t use much magic of course… but something tells me we won’t need it.”

I got back into playing Shantae Half Genie Hero again, and rekindled my love of this series. It's been two and a half years since I last drew Shantae, and quite frankly my previous fanart for her sucked! XD So here's a redemption pinup for my favorite hair-whipping, hip shaking, heroine! Safe version.
