Fanart of Brooklyn. My favorite Gargoyle, what's yours? Do you still watch the show? I still hope that one day it would get animated in a official sense, but if I get enough resources, I might just do it myself. Time travel is tricky though in a story telling sense, though I am enjoying how Loki and the MCU is doing it... anywho, enjoy!

I have to say that Brooklyn is a good fav to have. In my opinion, he changed the most throughout the show from becoming a young teenager who was brash, to more of a leader type who could be Goliath's second in command. The storytelling with him was very excellent all in all, apart from his good looks as well.
You are right, time travel is tricky, but the way that I think I heard Greg talk about it, it would be more that when Brooklyn heads into various time places and eras it either is far away from the clan to not know what they've been up to, to him purposefully restraining himself from looking up info of the clan when he's in the future.
I do really like the shadow play you have on work here along with the way the light plays off of the sigil. Small details like that really play off in the over all work.

Thanks for the reply! I agree. I would argue that all the characters experienced growth throughout the series and even got to a place where enemies became allies in a sense. But I definitely loved Brooklyn’s arc the most. Something about beaks is appealing to me in regards to character design.
That’s an interesting tidbit about Greg and I would love to read the article where you got that from. Any nugget of info about gargoyles is something I would like to read! And that does sound like an interesting concept!
Thanks! I’m still learning how to properly light and color and I was particularly proud how this turned out! The sigil was done in After Effects because I couldn’t get it looking right in illustrator. And then added some other touches in photoshop to help blend the two.
I’m glad you like it! I’ll definitely be posting more fanart soon, so please look forward to it!

It's actually great to see a professional animator on here on the site, despite how crazy this place can be.
And gargoyles is a really great series in of itself, just due to the time period it comes from. I think many tend to lean toward it out of the 90s cartoon era cause, unlike a lot of other disney shows, there was continuity and build up throughout it. It's something adults can appreciate more when you get the dvds and such. For interviews with Greg there actually is a fantastic site known as station 8. https://www.s8.org/gargoyles/askgreg/faq.php It's basically a Gargoyles fan haven for answers to various questions. Not only that, but Greg also lists out prototype plots that never got into the show, why certain events happened, etc. He even goes into facets about season 3 that never came to light as well as the numerous spin off shows they were talking to disney about!
Anyways, the future part Brooklyn would have been a part of is Gargoyles 2198, here : https://gargoyles.fandom.com/wiki/Gargoyles_2198 . I can't seem to find it, but I do recall at some interview I found that Greg said that Brooklyn would have been tempted while in the future to check the clan's past to see if he did make it home or not, but decided not to check, given if history says he didn't make it back he might not have the drive to try and get back home then.
Personally, I always thought that with terms to Brooklyn's story other aspects could have been brought in. One of the chief ones being that of his relationship with Coldsteel. It seemed Brooklyn's good nature and general naivety always ended with him punished in some fashion, given the same happened when he encountered Demona. It surprised me that Coldsteel spoke of returning to the coldness of cyber space, and then sort of just... lands in a robotic body again just like that. Given how long the three had been stuck in a robot, I would think they would miss other sensations. Touch, taste, smell, etc. While it makes sense for Coldfire and Coldstone to eventually head into machine bodies, I always thought that Coldsteel would want to keep Brooklyn's body for a bit at least, if but to greedily enjoy the aspects of life he had been missing. Of course that runs into the problem of Brooklyn missing for a few episodes but I always thought that with magic out and about, as a last resort, Puck could place Brooklyn's soul into Coldsteel's body temporarily. Gives one of the Gargoyle's a chance to see the sunrise, interact with Eliza when she's awake during the day, and when he eventually gets his body back he grows more wise from the experience. Just my thoughts there.

I'm glad to be here! If you have any questions about the animation industry or would like to know more about the animation process, feel free to ask! I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Although, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only professional animator who lurks on here. I'm probably one of the few who actually advertises it on their profile though. hahaha. I am also very aware of how crazy this place can be - Pause for effect. It's hilarious cause it's like I just walked into a dark room and a voice whispers from the dark "Close the door, or join." And I feel something slap my leg as I slowly back out of the room while closing the door mumbling apologies as I go. So yeah, I won't be partaking in any of that madness and will only be posting mainly safe for work art. Furthest I would go is PG-13, Low R? I think that's fair. The werewolf one I posted is bloody but not super bloody and the skull is very dark you can't really make it out. So that's about my limit... I'm not going to push the boundaries of Kinks and fetishes, I'm a mild dude. so yeah.
Really Cool link! I was reading up on it yesterday and geeking out. thank god for siri's reading voice cause It makes it easier to work and listen. So thank you! I really appreciate that and I found some new nuggets of information I didn't know about.
Awesome perspective on Brooklyn too. I forgot there was that episode where they all jumped out of coldstone and into angela, broadway, and brooklyn. Definitely would have been something that would be cool to see! I vaguely remember the episode so I might go back and watch it again just to get some more insight into that while keeping your perspective in mind to see if I can get anything new from it!
So definitely Thanks for everything!
