Horace may be a Demon serving the Demon queen. But he's actually a really nice entity for an undead necromancer. All demons are kept sane by having a desire and keeping to it, like an anchor to the mind as to not go on murderous rampages. Horace's desire is "Friendship" which shows as he treats all undead he summons as a friend. So much so that he makes sure to give every single undead he summons a name that he never forgets. So he's pretty easy to get along with, especially if someone offers to be his friend.

But since he only ever talked to undead that didnt talk back he was kind of socially awkward when the party met him and didnt know how to really speak to others.
