"Sorry but your Princess is in another castle. Since you're already here though, I could use some rescuing too."

It's been a long time coming. You've wanted it, I've wanted it, and this seemed to be the perfect time to finally get Jessie in his furry form all dressed up as his Princess Jessie persona, AKA Princess Samus from Heartgear's Systems of Entertainment:

I had and still have a lot of ideas for Jessie in this outfit, which should tell you how much I love this design for Samus and why I've had Jessie cosplay it and adopted a whole persona based off it. Ultimately for this sketch Scarlett and I decided to keep it simple and pay homage to the first image we get of Samus in her princess design from this series, which I still think is such a clever design. Captures both Samus's zero suit and Peach's dress in one design. It feels like a proper palette swap color for one of Peach's various color swaps or a proper Legendary style skin for Samus. What is it about fan made designs for popular Nintendo characters? Princess Samus, Bowsette, Linkana (another Heartgear special), and others I'm sure exist being such good designs that Nintendo should really consider adopting. :D
As for this piece, besides finally getting to see furry Jessie in the dress we also get to see it in Scarlett's style and it looks really good. It's hard to see, but Jessie is also wearing the metal wrist cuffs Samus wears for her new Smash version of the Zero Suit, which I'm unsure what their function is besides being for show, weighted attire to enhance her skills (ala Goku from DBZ), or bracers to help defend herself with. The only other possibility I can think of is she's expressing a mature interest that only the savy would recognize, which feeds into her being thrust into the role of a damsel prone princess be a sort of forced fantasy situation. It's doubtful, but sometimes it's fun to fantasize. ;P
As for the lone Metroid, a BABY btw (if you know, you know ;P), while brainstorming ideas for things for Jessie to do or hold one idea was to have him holding a Metroid plushie or toy which turned into having an actual Metroid in the scene. It fits. Also reminds us who the outfits was designed after and any love that can be shown to the Mertroid series and it's protagonist Samus Aran, the better. Despite her popularity, Samus and her series still feel underrated and underappreciated due to how much their contemporaries Mario and Link and their series perform by comparison. For a series and character so beloved and celebrated, you'd think people would have played the games in some form or another. And while I'm showing celebration to Samus in a form that's not traditionally as empowering, I absolutely love the character in all her forms and expressions whether as a badass bounty hunter in a sleek and cool highly advanced power suit, a skilled and technical fighter in an arena wearing a skin tight body suit, or in princess dress dabbling in a bit of damsel play designed by a fan. Because it's me and I'm about fashion and pretty things, seeing her in the dress just ticks even more boxes for me than Samus already ticked as a great character. Plus it's easier for myself and for Jessie to cosplay a princess dress than a power suit or even a body suit. ;P
I fully expect to do more individual and group pieces of Jessie in this outfit either just posing and looking cute or in his usual state of damsel in distressness. After all it's Jessie and while the trope might be old and tired for many, the captive princess waiting to be rescued will never get old for me, especially if I/Jessie get to play that role. ;)
Many thanks to Scarlett for the awesome artwork, and especially a big shoutout and thanks to Heartgear for coming up with this design and story as well as a letting me continue to use it in the form of Princess Jessie. I know she doesn't own Samus or anything, but I feel she deserves credit for this design of Samus as a princess and I'll always give her ownership of it. I'm pretty honored to be able to continue the story of SoE in some form, at least as a fan made "what if" or spin-off of this fan made story. And a big shoutout and thanks to all of you who voted for this and who's shown love and support for this version of Jessie and his little side story.
