A brief (belated) gift for my Discord buddy
RolandVoidheart, involving his character Aura Von Wolfsburg finding herself with quite the enchanting hex placed on her equipment~!
It was a rather nondescript day when the witch known as Aura Von Wolfsburg sensed an unusual current of magic pass her by. Though privy to all kinds of ambient spells, there was something… curious about this one. Her crystal ball- a spellcasting focus as well as a means of vision for her sightless eyes- absorbed the current with little effort, like it was magnetized to her.
It didn't sting at all; if anything, it was a rather... ticklish feeling. For a moment, she could feel a strange sweetness on her tongue, before she blinked and the world returned to normal. Curious.
She had thought nothing of the spell, even as she noted her vision more colorful than before, and a sense of levity in her chest- or perhaps that was from her back and shoulders, as the tousled blonde locks that swept across her back began curling into thick ringlets, bouncing upward with the compression of length. But what had stirred her curiosity was the occasional spots of pink that would pop up in her vision, leaving each object she perceived looking more colorful and... jubilant than before.
Pink was a rather lovely color, was it not? She HAD always admired it, as a young pup… but that faint admiration was becoming a full-on obsession the further she traveled. Her once-plain, Victorianesque black coat was becoming full of the color, felt becoming precious satin as bows, lace and ruffles aplenty adorned her. The reams of blonde that poured from her scalp began to pile upon her head, assuming a bouffanted shape that would have made ladies of Marie Antoinette's court envious with the sheer size, pushing up her brightening hat as the follicles increased further. Struggling to stay secure, the hat dropped its veil and instead thrust a silky ribbon down below her chin, tying itself snug as a feather sprouted from her hat for that extra degree of class.
Passing by a street vendor, Aura paused to glimpse her changing reflection... a twinge of shock went off in her chest, an emotion that she was unfamiliar with. Her curiosity struck once again, but it felt different now... she couldn't put words to it, but the wolf girl was growing enamored with her new face, even lost in blue eyes slowly being overtaken by a growing pink.
Lovely, the word came to her all of a sudden. Yes, it was a lovely reflection, was it not? All of this fine embroidery on her gown, the wide side hoops supporting the corseted figure making her look like a regular Duchess, not to mention the embroidered silk purse she didn’t remember purchasing, but just KNEW she had to take with her. She didn't even notice as her parasol, a familiar conduit for her spellcasting, was decorated through and through with ornate lace and gold trim; to her mind, it had always been so lovely. Just as lovely as this little village, as the lovely people who stopped to stare at the visage passing by... plush pink lips curled into a heartfelt, earnest smile gracing those around her as Aura daintily waved to the common folk, a gesture and general behavior that the once-emotionless doll would hardly have conceived herself capable of- but with the Tinting of Roses charm that had taken root inside her, such good will was second nature.
Her tail, groomed smoother and softer than ever before, wagged happily, the adornments of gold and precious gemstones creating a jingling sound that only made her even more giddy- and yet a sudden thought came to the young noblewoman. Goodness! She’d tarried so long at the market, Mother Wilhelmine must be EVER so worried. She had best return soon; she couldn’t wait to regale her mother with all the lovely events of her day…
