After my father died, my mother joined a bereavement support group. One member named Harold lost his wife, and he and mother became friends. I wasn't long before they fell in love, and my mother soon announced to me that she and Harold were getting married, and she asked me to give her away at the wedding, since all my grandparents died years before. I was tickled pink! Harold has turned out to be a good husband and stepfather (Take that, Perrault and Grimm!).
