We sent my best friend Obie of 11 years to rest on October 17th.
He has been battling prostate and bladder cancer since February of this year.
This image shows my lovely baby on his last day. We had a wonderful couple of last days with him, even though his body was failing him and I couldnt get him to eat much of anything my boy still wanted to play ball one last time.
You can see even though his hair was falling out...he is still a beautiful boy. I miss him very much and am so grateful for his presence in my and my family's life.
He kept me living when I had nothing to hold onto and I kept my promise to be with him again until the end. He was the ultimate embodiment of living to the fullest and loving unconditionally. I miss him with every piece of my heart and I will never forget my baby boy.
I may post some more images of him soon, some of my favorites. Hold your pets and loved ones close today and remember to live in the moment with them. Those chances we get to spend time with the people we love most are no coincidence.

Thank you. He was a very active, happy and often stoic dog, it was hard to see his health decline when he was so aware of it happening to him. I am happy that he is resting now and has no more pain. We have 11 years worth of very good memories. Thank you for the reminder.
I feel blessed to have been his family for so long. He truly was an amazing companion, the most self-aware dog I have ever had the pleasure of crossing paths with. I hope someday, somehow we can cross paths again. He was the most wonderful, joyful friend anyone could ask for.
