Some of you might have noticed the blue star "Vaccinated" badge that can be seen in some of the photos I posted. I bought that one back at StratosFur and that got me thinking of making my own version but 3D printed. The result can also be seen in some of my posts but this one has a closer view of the whole thing by itself.
I thought about the design for a good while but I really started on the modeling like less than a week before ACFI. In fact, I didn't start printing it until a couple of days before the con. I wanted to make my roommates copies so I ended up printing four of them.
I was even painting them right at the con itself on the first night (Thursday). I used fluorescent paint and had to apply several layers to cover the silver base coat as the best I could with the short time I had. But I hope it was enough to get by.
I wanted to use more colors but I couldn't find fluorescent red as the places I went to were out. So I had to stick to green, blue, and orange paint that I either had or was able to find in time. The green even glows in the dark but is very faint.
I really want to finish this though. I think doing the text and the no symbol in red would make that "pop", especially in UV light. I might get something like neon yellow too and add that to the inner circle. Dunno.
By the way, I added the slot on top so I have use a badge holder. I ended up using a pair of split rings to anchor the bottom section of my lanyard due the heavier wieght than the usual laninated paper badge. That is one bonus of the 3D printing. I also placed a series of holes along the bottom for some future use like tying strings, strings, or even hanging smaller badges. I dunno but may put something down there. Maybe the number of syringes representing how many doses I got. If you have any ideas, let me know.

You See Though,
Circumstance Always Plays Role In Many Things.
Put Yourself In Someone Elses Situation For Instance And Try To Think Why They Yet To Have/Get The Vaccine.
It Is Always Much More Than A Simple Decision Of Choosing "Not" To Get It, But Circumstance Of Which People Cannot Get It, Even If Wanted.
That Is What My First Comment Was About.

Let's back up a moment here. How does "Relax, I got the Vax" had anything to do with what you are going on about. It if simply a reassurance that "I" got the vax to there is no worry. Well, less of a worry anyway but I digress. You totally misunderstand it (like a lot).
But in responding to what you say, if someone can't get the vax for some valid reason like being in chemo or something of the like, then it is more important for those who CAN get it to do so or just not go out in public. To willing go out and infect others is not only a bad thing to do, but totally unethical. There is no need to flaunt their attitude and actually get people KILLED.
Ok ok, story time. The company I work for has over 700 employees worldwide, around 500 here. Way back in last march, we implemented a mandatory program in all of our facilities including the factory we built in China for their domestic production. If fact, we sent them over 40,000 masks along with tons of gloves, hand sanitizers, and the like. Not a SINGLE person over there died from Covod.
Things was a little different at our local factory. There is a group of around 10 people of a certain anti-mask, anti-social distancing, anti-science , etc. political party that thought they wasn't going to follow the safety rules. One of them even had a "No Mask Zone" sign hung up in their cubical. I used to be part of that group (well, assigned to that area). I was glad to moved to another group and moved all the way across the other side of the building. But I still see on occasion walking the hallways without wearing their masks and whatnot.
Well, an older member of that group got sick over the holidays. He went to his brother's funeral who died of Covid and got the you know what. They took him off the ventilator in February of 2020. Hopefully no caught it at his funeral, keeping the cycle going. So out of over 700 people, he was the first to directly died of the disease and as far as I know, the only one. That includes a factory in China itself that is very close to the start of this whole thing. They, like most of us here, followed the safety protocols.
But wait, there is more. If that is enough, An co-worker's daughter was suffering some heath problem back in March at around one of those spikes. She didn't want to go to the hospital due to it being overcrowded (don't let people lie to you about them being empty, more on that later). So she delayed and delayed going until she was so sick that she had to go. Unfortunately by then, she was so sick that she turned for the worse and passed away. If might not be a direct Covid hit but if definitely paid a part.
Now it got worse. Just a couple of weeks ago, another co-worker wife was ill and kept going in and out of the hospital. But they were releasing her quickly due to the overcrowding due to the unvaxxed taking over the ICUs. I remember the co-worker on the phone for what seemed like hours to find a room for her. He said the Emergency room was useless as there just take a quick look and just release her again over and over.
He finally found a hospital and took here in but sometimes during the weekend, they released her too. On the way home, the wife had shortness of breath but she told her husband that it was ok. But she was wheezing badly. At home, he used one of those oxygen meters and found her level was just over 40 percent. She was in very bad shape as normally it is in the high 90s. An ambulance rushed her back but she died a day after. Chalk one score for the anti-vax team. Yay, have a cigar... and smoke it in front of someone who has asthma. That'll teach for being sick. How dare they infringe on my rights to spread the disease. "Make Putin Proud Always" should be their slogan. Its always been that anyway.... always.
I doubt you bothered to read all that much less understand it. I been trying hard to keep my elderly mom safe. We did the anti-social stuff as much as possible as well as wear face masks and use hand sanitizers when available (i have a bottle in my car). Both of use got our double shots despite being very difficult back when we finally got them. Now it is so easy but some people still decided to put others to risk.
Whenever she goes out (being cooped inside for so long), I try to get her to avoid going near the anti-maskers. Sometimes that id hard. Even though we got the shots, there is still a chance that the virus gets through and at her age, getting sick is most likely fatal.
If the anti-everything crowd was only killing themselves, then so be it. They made their (poor) choice. But they are killing others wither directly or indirectly. That is the problem I hope you agree. The vax is not prefect but is the best thing we have to stop the spread. If only everybody actually did the lockdown like they should way back at the beginning of last year, the whole thing would have blown over in two weeks, a months tops. That would be all that was needed. But noooooo, can't have that. So they stretched it over a year and a half... and then some.
Back to the badge I made. It was to reassure people that I got the vax and they can relax. Even though it is not perfect, it means that their risk is a lot less around me. Especially since I still wear my masks (I even have some cool furry related ones). I am doing that social distancing thing as much as I can too. But somethings placed get crowded. One thing I like about ACFI is that a proof of vax is required or a recent negative test. They also took temperatures of the attendees and give them a wristband if normal. This hopefully prevented anyone spreading the thing. And hopefully no one faked their vax card. Those people are the A$%H()l3s, almost as bad as those purposely coughing on people. They should be arrested for assault and battery (some did though). Some people find it is funny too. Remember those Covid parties where people see how many they can infect. Crazy stuff.
Then you have the talking heads that told people not to get the vax while being vaxxed to the max themselves. many the first in line using their clout (and money). Another weird thing is the anti-vaxxers getting the disease and try every unapproved and untested "cure" out there, many costing big bucks instead of getting the FREE vax in the first place. Some of them even begged for the vax on their deathbeds but of course it is far too late by then.
So, if you got the vax, relax. If you are around someone who got the vax, relax. I hope you understand not. By the way, our booster shots is coming up soon. So we can triple relax to the max! And I am going to make addons for my badge for that, heh.

Yeah yeah, the guy didn't bother what I wrote. Probably afraid what he might find. Oh well, no big. At least he is smart enough to get the vax. Just don't understand those that "choose" not to and got out in public is essentially committing attempted murder and assault with a biological weapon at least to downright murder if they end up infecting someone and killed them. But I digress, these knuckleheads will die off one way or another, hopefully not taking too many innocents with them.
These are the same kind of people that would blow smoke in your face, the same ones that "roll coal" into a car with a kid with asthma (yep, it happened), the ones that drive drunk and kills without remorse.... those kinds of people. But I am ranting too much already though I could easily go on and on about this. But I need to relax... I got the vax after all. Its all good.

"I have not yet begun to fight!"
But alas, I must slow down for the night. I do have to go to work and get too tired as it is. Being an ancient dragon does have its drawbacks at times.
But don't you worry, I have plenty. Oh boy I have lots of stuff. I really need to make an outline. I don't want to repeat or forget stuff as the case may be. There is so much to cover. No random quotes either. Solid information and the like. We'll see how long this goes.

Ah, a bunch of vague quotes but still no valid points. Plus you were the one to delve into politics in the first place.
By the way, why do you think using emotes is bad but it is ok for the unvaxed to go out literally murder people with biological weapons?
I am going to try one more time for you to understand. Your first post "If You Don't Want To Hang Out With Someone Simply Because They Don't Got The Vaccination,
Then Your Obviously Not Worth The Time To Be Around To Begin With,
Simple Enough. " BTW, its "you're" FYI
My badge had absolutely nothing to do with that. That totally came out of the blue. "Relax, I got the vax" is completely opposite. It simply means that those who cannot get the vaccine for any VALID reason should take comfort that I actually took the precaution of not only protecting myself but others as well.
It also signally to others that they are in good company if they too get the shot(s). Knowing I am not putting them in undo risks. Yes, breakthroughs still happen but the chances are much smaller and if it does happen, the illness will almost always be a lot less severe.
Yeah yeah, it is going to get long again but here goes.
I was at the supermarket the other day and noticed the headline that 2600+ people in the US who got the vax ended up getting the disease and dying. Sounds like a lot but that is out of almost 200,000,000 people that are fully vaccinated with 20,000,000 more with at least the first does. The contrast with 736,000,000 deaths total (the real number is way above a million but I am going to explain that... at this time). That is a far cry from under 3000. So the headline made it seem worse while the alternative is much much worse... and still going.
But the big point of all of this is that the vax is not only effective but breakthroughs are very are.
If someone does not want the shot(s) despite all the evidence showing that they really should, then that is fine. The problem arises if they then go out in public, knowing that they can spread the disease and just don't care on how many people they murder. That is what everyone should have a problem with and are truly the people not worth the time to be around cause they can kill you, your friends, your family. Not worth the risk.
Oh, I have more stuff... a lot more. But I don't think you will bother to read any of it much less understand the contents. But I do have to thank you. I been thinking about how F#ck3D up the situation we alol are in and how it should not happen. I finally got to write some on them down. Maybe I'll add more stuff to the pile. I can go down that deep dragon hole quite easily. Hehe, never hear the end of it. So again, thanks.

Oh well, I wanted to write some of the stuff for a long time anyway. At least I got an excuse to get it out of my system. But I have so much more. It is just the tip of the iceberg. Once I get going, there is no stopping me. But eventually I'll get bore. It is like a cat toying with a mouse, eventually ending not great for the mousy.
I don't think he'll ever can tell me why it is ok for the unvaxxed to go out and murder peole with biological weapons. Stay at home would be fine, but spreading the disease is not and never should be ok. Nothing political about it. But I am getting on with my ramping again. I go on for ages but I'll take a break. Whew. I haven't wrote that much in a long long time indeed.

Wow, I could really write on this one. Ok here goes.
There are some that say that the vaccine was created way too fast, that too many corners were taken. What don't realize (or don't care to realize) is that the work on it started a good decade ago. The traditional method of developing a vaccine for any particular strain of virus take many many years. So the scientist started looking at alternative methods. Instead of using weak or dead viruses to start with, they focus on the spike protein. Of course they didn't know about the Corona virus that cause Covid just yet, that was years away. But they were studying a group of similar viruses that were making the rounds.
What they come up with was brilliant. By making copies of the spike proteins, they can make a vaccine that doesn't rely on directly a particular strain (one reason the vax can handle a lot of new mutations though there is still a possibility one could defeat the vax. Luckily that hasn't happen yet). So they already had something in the pipeline. It was slow process due to all the red tape for sure, but they had a good starting point.
When Corona burst onto the scene, most of the work was already in motion. The biggest hurdle was all the paperwork. But a lot of that was fast-tracked and eventually an effective vaccine was made in record time... and still quite effective.
But to why this pandemic is being dragged for so long, look to the anti-lockdowners, anti-maskers, anti-science and now the anti-vaxers (those that are still alive). They are the sole reason this have gone for far too long. If we truly had people do the social distancing and wear their mask, it would be all over in two to four weeks tops. But every single time there is a dip in the infection rate, people rush out to superspreader events and cause a spike soon after. You have huge gatherings like political rallies, that massive Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Memorial Day Weekend, 4th of July, etc. Heck, they even opened the schools too soon and had to close them again... over and over. And the scientist predicted every single one of these spikes... every... single... one. And their predictions were pretty spot on too.
then you have the governors like here in TeXaS that tried to ban mandatory mask and vax rules. Pure madness No wonder why it dragged on and on. But why? Simple, money. Look at who are making the big campaign contributions. In Florida, the governor there got big bucks from a company that makes a treatment that cost the government thousands of dollars... each time. That adds up quick. That is why TeXaS and Florida lead the nation in infection rates for a good while there. That company made a killing... literally. It is like a video game plot, but this time it is real. I could write a book about following the money but I leave that alone... for now.
Anything else?

Um, yeah. Vaccines don't cure diseases, only help prevent it in the first place although they are not 100% effective but better than nothing. That is why people should still wear masks in public and do the social distancing thing until it is safe. People have a tendency of jumping the gun whenever there is a dip in the curve and ignore the scientist advice and we get that spike again soon after. Hopefully with higher and higher vax rates, the spikes would "die" down till it is finally over. Well, over for now anyway. Despite all these spikes and surges, we are still in our first wave. More people died during the Spanish Flu's second wave than in the first. But with the vax, we probably not going that route with the modern medicine and multiple vaccines to choose from. At least doing the second way to a lesser extent.
One good news we have here recently in my city was the announcement of 98% of the eligible locals had at least their first shot and close to 80% that are full vaccinated (of course not counting the booster shots as that just started). Also the positive rate, hospitalization, and deaths have been on a downward trend too. Also I been noticing a lot of people still wearing their masks with a few knuckleheads that don't and putting not only their life at risks but others as well.
Things are indeed are starting to open up. Still have the mask rule at work (a very good idea of course), but they are monitoring the situation to see if they are going to relax it. Hopefully not too soon but I have a feeling they will caution on the safe side. After all, only one person out of our company of over 700 employees had died directed of the virus and he did that off site on holiday (and was part of that anti-science, anti-social distancing, anti-vax crowd - go figure).

Nah, I'm just writing stuff that I wanted to for a long time and now had an excuse to finally do it. I have so many stuff, some of it going back decades. I'll probably won't get to all of it but not for the lack material. Once I get going, I have a hard time of stopping though I am going to take a short break so I can concentrate on my Ween of Hallo costume. I do one almost every year and hand out candies (mostly chocolates, none of that crappy cheap stuff. I only do the Good Stuff™). I got a big chunk of it done but I need some finishing touches.
Oh, just got an email from work announcing the company's Halloween celebration on Friday. Talk about short notice, just a few days away. Good thing I already started to gather my stuff. They should have sent it at least a couple of weeks ago. Maybe it was a last minute thing. Probably as HR have a habit of doing that.
Yeah, I was thinking of not doing anything this year but eventually came around of doing something simple at least. I didn't want to rehash an old costume. I spied a Halloween plastic gas mask and that got me thinking of some ideas. I should have bought it right then and there but for some bizarre reason I didn't. I had a hard time finding it again and got it despite being a little bit more expensive. Oh well, almost missed out on it.
I also got one of those yellow workers raincoat set that has the overalls, jacket, and attachable hood. I am hoping it'll look close enough to a hazmat suit. I have one of those water backpack. I don't have the bottle to it but I don't need it as I plan on wearing it along with a hose sticking out of it and going to some sort of spray wand contraption. I made a "HUMAN B-gon" label in the style of Ortho's "BUB B-gon" one, but the name changed to Throto instead (edited the logo and such). Look quite authentic I have to say.
I am also doing some few other stuff to it but that description I'll leave for another day. I am already going way off in a tangent.

I'm hoping to catch you on IRC in the near future to catch up with you, but this troll is laughing is ass off at how long you've spent replying to his messages. He is only there to mess with you.
He Types Like This With A Capital Letter At The Start Of Each Word.
Stop wasting your time with a moron. If you need to rant about something, talk about it with a friend instead.

He can laugh all he want. I'm the one having fun. I been meaning to write all this stuff anyway and finally got an excuse. So I'll probably keep going until I lose interest... or become my lazy self again.
I also noticed the weird capitalization. Some people are wierd like that I guess. As for me, I usually don't bother with capitals in IRC as I tend to write fast and hard there during my (now ultra rare) RPs.
Yeah, I'm still lurking on IRC but I don't talk much in general much less there. Though I done tons on this comment section, more than I done in years.
And my mood has been strangle happy all this week. Maybe its the Halloween season (my favorite by the way - I love to dress up and all that) or just finally be able to go to cons after like a year and half of the shutdowns. I been to two so far and hopefully hit TFF next year. I need to get a room and a couple of roommates. I can get the room all by myself but that seems like a waste of space. I don't plan to be inside of it much anyway. I rather spend my time at the con itself than to be cooped up inside a room while I could do that at home.
But I plan to slow down until the Ween of Hallo is over... the key word is plan.
