Ahh... very true. I think we may've talked about this? My dad passed away almost a year ago (Dec 9th), too. That hit me in a different way than my friend here... being it's my dad... but he was also 'old'. It wasn't entirely unexpected. Rachel, however... it was only a few days after her 32nd birthday. Just way too soon..

I understand it is something different if a good friend passes away, especially if it happened unexpected. My condolencies. *hugs you otterly warm*

Ah thanks... I'm sure Rachel would've gotten a kick out of this, she wasn't a furry but she knew about the fandom threw me and she liked nerdy, quirky stuff in general.

Lost my friend about 8 months ago and he was just a little older than me. We grew up as childhood friends and stuck around even after his marriage and kids and divorce. Friends passings are REALLY hard to get over... much more than family, i think. Youre stuck with family and all its good and bad. with friends... man its almost always good times,, because theyre your friends. you have good times with them almost all the time.

I'm so sorry for your loss, I can see how it's affected you :( And you're right about friends... almost always good memories with them versus family...

Damn COVID got mine... the last text i got was that he had COVID and had to be checked in. I called him once and he said they were trying to figure out what to do, seemed upbeat.

three days later, he's gone... just like that. man i would never let myself be taken away like that, youd have to drag me kicking and screaming to leave this world.

Egh... covid. That's what got my dad. He was symptom free again and feeling fine then suddenly he just passed away late at night.

As for my friend in the above art piece... sadly, she took her own life =\
