It wasn't a hobby before, but it is now.
Oddly enough, once Oli "recovers", I see her becoming a teacher. The Drekir have lost almost all the knowledge of the old world, knowledge which can still be extremely valuable.
If combined with the survival knowledge of the Drekir, and perhaps their ability to wield "magic" as it were, things could get interesting.

Oh believe me, tech gets pretty crazy though... like most things it takes time. The Thalmvaric period being an older setting in the canon that is the deep draconic future (10,000PA) Which covers a lot of what you can really do with manatech or magical industrialized technologies. Chances are Oli is not gonna be the one to create those high tech societies, that technological shift really can only happen on the terms of the people who live those lives.
Things like Spirit powered robots (Artifices and their programmers "Artificers") The Radiochain, Aetherships and resonant anchors, lots of crazy things develop over time. Funny you mentioned this as I have been looking to get in on some of that as a side glimpse into the deep draconic future of Thalmvaric states, tribes, technology and the state of the world.

Who needs a life when work is your life?
Well the Sivilão don't own territory here so there is no contested land, they're raiders not conquerors. They just don't go this far east for the reasons mentioned above.
Also trying to find a balance with the dialects so bare with me, fiddling a bit, found specifically that Forl was losing his dialect so I wanted to work to make sure it sounded more like his earlier accent from chapter 1 to help keep a sorta "drift"
