"Started as a Feeling, Grew Into a Hope"
“Then the lion said — but I don’t know if it spoke — You will have to let me undress you. I was afraid of his claws, I can tell you, but I was pretty nearly desperate now. So I just lay flat down on my back to let him do it." ~ The Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C.S. Lewis
A drawing inspired by my childhood inspiration, a series that influenced me into the person I am today - a specific scene in particular that spiritually resonates with my dragonkin side, helping awaken me: Aslan the Lion uses his claws to "undress" the transformed Eustace (although if I was in his place I would have rather stayed a dragon than a boy!) in a powerful scene, resembling a parallel to baptism and/or cleansing of oneself. Sadly the movie does a cop out version using magic instead, but the book passage will forever be engrained into my memory in the best way possible. The above is my personal tribute, one I've wanted to do for years and I'm so glad I finally have done one to justice. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.
This piece is available for purchase for $40 PayPal + shipping (lamination and tracking included), note or comment to claim! Every shiny donation gets a sketch as well, anything helps (this is my only income)~ <3
