There were many rumours coming from those living closest to the thick, dense jungles nearby.
Talk of how people who get lost in the jungle don't quite ever escape the jungle, the jungle always with them, and in a more physical sense than literal...

Talk of an unending, seemingly inescapable creature that ensnares those who venture too deep into its realm and trespass on its land, an insidious being that influence others to do its bidding, some even claiming thats how the legends of the jungle's treasures started as the beast wished to lure in more unsuspecting adventurers...

Posters would often decorate the local taverns depicting such foolish travelers who had been missing for quite some time, believed to have fallen to this being... or rather for...

With gossip of such mind bending powers, of course there are many tales of the same story that change with each telling, some saying that people don't go missing, they choose to stay.
Some say that the treasure is real, but that its cursed, and will transform those who try to take it into even more, this curse branding all who enter to lose their way and lead them only to this treasure.
Some even talk of an undiscovered kingdom, so good and filled with such wonder that it is hidden from the world, with lavish creatures who would serve your every need, ruled and maintained by the beast itself.

Like all stories, each has a nugget of truth hidden somewhere, and when you piece all the parts together, there's not so much a curse as... a gift...
