"A king without a castle, without a throne and without any treasure, ruling over a kingdom without land, without borders without flag or hymn, this is Gwydion the Grim the dreadful king of all witches,a title earned not by inheritance or law, but by sheer might and admiration of his people.Very little is really known about Gwydion, not even his true age, many scholars claim there is registers of the existence of Gwydion dating back to the mages era a thousand years ago, although he never confirms or deny anything, no one is foolish or bold enough to demand answers from him.
For some Gwydion is a deity, the great savior of the witchfolk, for others he is a warrior hardened by ten thousand battles or even just the wisest and most experienced of all magic users, independent of the explanation each individual has about him the consensus is that he is the great leader who will bring back the age of magic. In Gwydion eyes the world belong to those born with the gift of the magic, this era of steam, clockwork and robots is twisted and will crumble in to dust like it happened on the past, in the end only magic will remain like it always was...and anyone who try to prevent this prophetic destiny will suffer dearly, Gwydion has little to no sympathy for regular people so much so he encourages witches to sacrifice, enslave and consume non magical people, this lack of empathy was seen at fullest during the Kabirah war were Gwydion ordered his armies to completely wipe the population of several cities, the few who were spared suffered dreadful fates in the hands of sadistic sorcerers.
For centuries Gwydion showed very little activity, for a long time he was considered dead, but in the last decades he was seem in magical wars all over the world, at each apparition he gathers even more supporters for his cause, his promises of a free world ruled only by witchfolk fill the hearts of hopeless covens who suffered in the hands of the inquisition, every year his ranks swell with young witches eager to realize their revenge fantasies upon the mortal world." (The Traveler)
I know you want to ask, "Why Gwydion is so similar to Danadriel? had you run out of criativity for characters?"
the answer is simple, Danadriel is Gwydion's son :U
don't worry it will be explained in the proper time!
This drawing is not that impressive as I planned, but it's a decent introduction.

A bunch of things. Like that little written hint at the last piece of ‘hunted’ but it’s also how he looked at Danandriel in that same piece as he was judged for his crimes against Tamara. It’s a look I know too well from my parents, disappointment. Granted I’m definitely not like Danandriel and that maybe an understatement, but it’s what I’m reading from expressions and surmising from my own experiences
You right, although in that moment Gwydion is not disappointed as father but as a king betrayed by one of his most loyal warriors. Gwydion had immense hopes for Danadriel due his actions during the the liberation of the north and the Night of Vengeance, so what Danadriel did not just angered Gwydion on a personal level but also in a "strategical" level.
Took me a while to connect the dots and remember who the yawaras were, this part of the lore is abandoned for so many years! I intend to revamp the whole lore involving the jungles and consequently them, but for now they are not connected to the current events.
In the first drafts Danadriel was supposed to be a Yawara but when I began to draw the map I noticed the immense logistical problems with that, also a childhood among the yawaras would make him a tough guy since early age, completely contrary of my vision of him as a whiny and frightned boy.
