This is a seriously high-stress situation, but seeing how these two play off of each other... it's just so much fun!
Thes best part is that she seems to be humanizing him, much as it would disgust him if anyone ever pointed it out. He seems to be developing real feelings for her, and that will drive him nuts when he realizes it!

I haven’t figured out exactly how it all works, but in my head, demons are created with the excess magical energy leftover when their progenitor dies (more magical energy = more kids) and typically inherit any material things that are left. If more than one demon is spawned from the death of the progenitor, they typically start life fighting over the estate. There’s no sense of family, they typically work alone, die alone, reproduce alone - it creates a very alien mindset from people, who are pack animals.
With that in mind, just the act of suffering and needing to rely on someone for his emotional needs is changing the way Odysseus approaches the situation. He’ll still absolutely deny being “humanized” for forever, lol.
