Fantom, being always so very peril-prone, has to have contingency plans for when she's inevitably captured.

After all, her foes have a habit of intending for her to meet some very bad ends; trapped, encased, ensnared, enclosed, sold, or used, without any hope of escape from whatever predicament they have planned! Whether it's shining and squirming as a thrice-coated slave of a mystical elf, or locked away and forgotten in the bowels of Alysa Prison, Fantom simply must find good ways to plan her escape before it's necessary.

To that end, she hired Maddie and her small crew of pirates, keeping them on retainer. If Fantom were ever captured and travelling by sea, then Maddie's crew would come to her rescue, enjoy the fruits of whatever the ship was carrying, and even get half of Fantom's precious treasure.

Unfortunately, Maddie wasn't expecting Elissa to be the one with the ninja as her captive cargo! Elissa has more than enough skill and foresight - not to mention negotiation - to draw Maddie into a trap.

Now, Fantom has the triple-punishment of


• being bound and stripped and under Elissa's watchful eye
• watching her "rescuer" end up similarly caught
• being forced to watch Elissa utterly succeed, before giving Fantom the key to her own restraints!

Some ninjas have all the luck. And then there are others, like Fantom!
