I was watching a Ducky3D tutorial on YouTube where he made this cube with smaller cubes on the surface using Blender's new Geometry Nodes. It's even animated and I need to put it in a format where I can upload it here.
He had the cube and the backdrop be blue but I left the scene white, and gave a cubes a shiny look. He used three white area lights but I went with an orange on the left, white directly above and a blue on the right. I love the colorful multi-color shadow they all made.
When I go on an art vacation next month, I plan on trying to immerse myself in learning some blender and try to even make a character.

I wanna keep trying to do these tutorials. Ducky made the background a soft blue and the cubes but I wanted the background to be white and the cube to be a darker shiny metal. Instead of three white area lights, I went with the orange, white and blue, and it made for a wonderful shadow.
I've been wanting to take my characters in 3D but with working 50-60 hours, learning modeling on Blender has been nearly impossible.
I just hope I can learn some things next month when I take a wee little art break.

I'll check it out when I can. I still wanna make the models myself and avoid any copyright issues. Not to mention that they will be done to my art style. It's things like the asshole, vagina and buttcrack that I won't find tutorials on YouTube.
I also started watching
Arhodevil and I love their models and animations. It's kinda reinvigorated the 3D passion. Also,
ruaidri started learning 3D a year or so ago and they make some bitching good furry 3D models.

I actually kept the samples fairly low for this to to have it render faster.
I do plan on doing more Ducky3D tutorials like this next week and the week after, I wanna try and model a character base mesh and I mean base. Probably won't have an armature or anything else but I wanna try for it.
This is the actual tutorial I watched, . I just made the cube metallic and used different light colors.

I've done another where he makes this tube using geometry nodes with interesting shapes and then animated it. I'm currently rendering the animation but will probably do a still version to post here. I do a split screen of the browser and blender so I can watch and do but I sometimes have the browser side of the split screen active and when I hit num+0 to go to camera view, I inadvertently made the video go back to the beginning. A 17 min tutorial took like 45 mins.
Im just amazed at how fast Ducky learned how and what the geometry nodes do seeing as they are fairly new. Of course, he probably doesn't have a job like mine working 50 hours/week.
Btw, this is the latest one I did, https://youtu.be/8G05ELB1HmA Kept screwing up but once I got it down, I started to play with what I did make.

I would think he does these tutorials for a living or he does 3D modeling but does the tutorials for extra funds.
It'll probably take me awhile to get a hold of it. I'm still learning basic texturing/modelling and such. There's still more to learn but time and energy is the enemy. I did a few more tutorials with Geometry nodes. I gotta post them sometime. Even if I never make my own characters, doing these are kind of artistic too.
