I didn't have a fursona for over a decade of lurking in the fandom. It seemed like something I might want, but I drew a blank whenever I thought about it, and was too anxious to reach out to anyone about it.

But sure, I was fursona-curious. So when  pdonz was kickstarting the physical print for Rudek and the Bear: Volume 2 I thought it would be fun to support the project at the tier where he'll draw your character in this huge two-page group shot spread. There was all this space for reference sheets and physical characteristics, but I just wrote "shaggy brown hyena," basically. I had discovered them recently, and loved how weird they looked. In every picture they alternate between majestic and dorky looking.

When the art was unveiled, my guy was featured prominently right there in the middle of the page, sitting on the well, and I loved him. It's a comic series about slavic border patrol, so everyone in the wider shot looks shocked because guards just discovered their operation, but not-Marrow just looks amused.

I wanted to see more of him, so when the time came to design Marrow with my friend  Enro this was what we used as a starting point.
