Aamira hurried up to her apartment, package clutched between her paws. Her heart was racing, her face felt hot, and she reacted to every person that she passed like they might just reach out and stab her.
She was a Lucario. She was normally so much better at keeping her emotions under control. But that wasn't going to be the case today. Not when she was so excited about what she had.
She practically kicked in the door to her apartment, pushing it shut again with her tail as she ran to her bedroom, practically slam dunking the package onto the bed.
She looked around for something to cut the packaging tape.
And when she found nothing, she extended a metal claw from her backhanded spikes, shakily cutting the packaging tape that way. She ignored the glue and tape residue now stuck to the spike once the claw returned to normal, her breath shallow as she pulled open the flaps of the box...
There it was. Nestled inside was the item she'd sent away for weeks ago.
"Sinnoh League Anthro Pokemon Participation Kit"
Aamira let out a soft "Carioooo!" of joy before clearing her throat, snapping back to the matter at hand. She lifted the kit out of the box, pulling from it the starter pamphlet.
"Let's see..." She mused to herself, reading the introduction.
"Thank you for ordering... blah blah blah... make sure you have all your consent forms signed with your trainer... mm hm hmmmm... ah. The (human-like egg group) battle harness is required wear for all anthro Pokemon participating in the Sinnoh League. It is designed to fit snug and offer moderate support and protection, but not offer an unfair advantage over lesser Pokemon competitors."
It made sense. Anthro Pokemon were allowed to compete because they were so similar to regular ones. But it wouldn't exactly make for good, family friendly TV for an anthro to be jumping around in the nude.
And so, that's where the item Aamira had ordered came in. Tossing the pamphlet aside for the time being, she soon lifted the item of her desire out of the box, her eyes glittering as she beheld it. A real anthro battle harness. Just like from the official league matches...!
It was made of a gorgeous black leather, the metal fasteners and buckles a deep bronze looking gold. Her own custom ordered changes. It had cost extra, but goodness if it hadn't been worth it now.
Of course, the harness itself wouldn't cover everything. Well... okay, it would. But Aamira blushed even more deeply to imagine herself wearing JUST the harness.
She almost felt faint imagining it. But more in the absolutely mortified way than any desire. She was... very shy, and the thought of a crowd seeing her like that terrified her!
Fortunately for her, it wasn't just the harness inside. Setting the lattice of straps next to the box, Aamira pulled out the simple shorts and sports bra she'd ordered with it. They weren't anything too special. The shorts plain and white, the sports bra the same but with a small Pokeball insignia emblazoning the front left corner of the article. They were meant to be worn under the harness, and with them Aamira would have a level of coverage she would feel comfortable with.
So... no time to try it all on like the present!
Aamira quickly changed into the sporty clothing, glad to find she'd gotten her measurements right. It meant the harness should fit her well.
It just lay there enticingly as Aamira stared at it, the nervous Lucario shaking in anticipation before she finally got the courage to pick it up, turn it the right way... and step into it.
It slid up her form surprisingly easily. The buckles were convenient to reach, soon cinched comfortably tight around her. Gosh, the way it fit... she felt so owned.
She hurriedly adjusted the last few straps to finish up the magic, the harness now secured around her. And the result?
Aamira felt amazing
She let out a soft squee as she fell onto her bed, rolling around for a bit before she got herself together enough to stand up and admire herself in the mirror.
She really did look just like the Pokemon on TV...
She imagined being thrown out onto the field, bursting out of her Pokeball to the cheers of thousands. Striking a pose for the camera, which she tried as she looked herself in the mirror. Waiting for orders from her trainer. Facing down the champion's own prized Garchomp...
Aamira looked to the clock. She didn't work today, and it was only noon. She'd planned a relaxing afternoon at home.
And there wasn't really anything stopping her from taking the harness off...
... Aamira straightened herself up, grinning in the mirror.
"Well, a good Pokemon is always ready to be sent in to battle." She winked, turning this way and that as she continued to admire the harness.
"And I'm a good Pokemon."
Her grin wavered.
"... okay, I have got to figure out a catchphrase. And a cool signature pose. Ooh, and a signature move! Oh oh, and a nickname for myself!"
Another fun little short I wrote of Aamira the Lucario. She's become something of a comfort character to me, and I'm quite eager to get her designed at some point for art. But I digress,
Aamira the Lucario is going to be the focus of next month's fan-story poll on my Patreon
