The ALCHEMISTS (ALCHEMIST singular)

are a closed species i invented years ago. of inmortal yet fragile beings who dedicate their entire life to study various alchemical methods and inventing their own with highly volatile experiments.

They constantly are in a rush to write everything they find and learn down somewhere, that is why they keep 'decorating' themselves with 'clothing' made of:

-papyrus
-cloth
-canvas

They hurriedly write with their favorite pen/cil or quill (which never runs out of ink ) over and over in the same spots in their clothings, resulting in them often blurring out old things they wrote, and by how fast they try to write, they often end up not understanding what the hell they just wrote, hurrying them to start their studying ALL OVER AGAIN to try and remember what it was and how to perfect them

There is NO shorter name for the Alchemist's species.

Whenever they choose to give themselves a little time to sleep, they just add a strong iron clip to their cape, choose a spot in the roof or whatever tall thing they can find, and just hang themselves upside down, like a bat, to sleep and rest and maybe just to hang out

They spend all their youth enclosed in a small room, developing their own philosopher's stone, with materials provided by older alchemists. when they succeed, they attach the stone cutted in half to each one of their hands.

They rather study all the time and WILL often forget to eat and drink. that is why most of them are thin and even malnourished.

Due to how RARELY they actually eat, they 'created' a complex condensation system inside their lungs, ribcage, and digestive organs, which melt all the nutrients they had, and trough a tube, it condenses into a liquid that is stored in the tip of their tails. the vial/flask is always made of transparent glass.
- If the flask has little liquid, the alchemist is unhealthy and health with decline rapidly
- if the flask is broken or chipped, it will leak their life energy, they WILL DIE.
- in the ref i wrote the liquid is always the same color of the stone, it is normal to be the same color, but it can also just be based on what they eat or if they injest ink _{(sorry for my beefbrain)}

Thanks to them always focusing only in 1 table, and spending their whole life inside basements with all their alchemy elements they need. there will be OFTEN accidents
- more than one alchemist can work on the same table, but they will never do eye contact, the fluff on their elbows are specifically made so they can simply brush against eachother's elbow when they are to close to know they are just too close and take their space, they can also recognise which exact alchemist is to which side, if they bump on the elbow fluff.
- they rarely if never actually talk, they just write
- due to them wearing HIGHLY FLAMMABLE CLOTHINGS AND DECORATIONS and beign 100% clueless about their surroundings, SEVERAL ALCHEMISTS DIE DUE TO FIRE/EXPLOSIONS

There is absolutely no physical difference between male or female alchemists
- They do not reproduce.
- they can have 1 partner/lover for life if their loved one dies, they will give up on their studies and just hang upside down until they die of starvation or explosions
- when a couple wishes to create a new alchemist, they will spend years focused in HOW to make their own alchemist baby.
- there is said to be an effective way to create a baby, but they will always forget how to due to their hurried scribbles.
- once the baby alchemist is created they close it in a small room with all needed materials to create a philosopher's stone. without instructions, and only with basic food to develop a small ammount of liquid for the baby's flask.
- they are inmortal by lifespan, they only die by their own mistakes or lack of self care
-therefore 'death by natural causes' for them means 'death by explosion/burnt to death/broken or drained flask'

they are incredibly antisocial. it is extremelly rare for them to make friends, if they do make any friend or partner, they will move onto a bigger basement to work together for the rest of their lifetime

If they are so antisocial, how do they get their supplies?
- in the world they live in, most buildings are single level houses or at most 2 level houses. they will Always have a basement or a cellar, with a door leading outside.
- if you see one of those cellar doors, it's safe to assume an achemist lives there.
- if you check the door from time to time and you see a small note in a paper that will never fly away with the wind with a list of items, it's an alchemist requesting food/supplies
- if you don't give them the supplies, no problem, everyone in the town knows they exist, someone will eventually leave a pack with the required items, and slip a note inside the door to let them know it's there
- if you stay until there is no more people around and hide to spy, you might get to see a (extremelly tired and likely with severe underslept) alchemist slowly open the door, stretch, look around for a bit, grab the pack, take it inside, and close the door :)
- (for a more internet definition think hikikomori people. but they perform alchemy and very often catch fire and explode)
